I would not like Sam at the helm. Hardly the future, is he? Stay with AP.

If Allardyce gets the job, this meltdown will seem minor. He has achieved nothing other than survival. If that's enough for the "sack Pardew now" bunch, you lack ambition. What is wrong with trying to change that style of play? He will not change it. He has one style of play. Survival. Playing dull, defensive games. After a year of that type of dross, you all would be calling for a change. By which time we would be back to where we are. Surviving. I hear everyone saying how we should be doing better with the team we have, and I agree, but most of them are too used to playing dull, defensive football. We need to move on, and Pardew, love him or hate him, has changed the way we play. Allardyce is a dinosaur. No way do we need him. I just looked at Allardyce's last couple of years in the PL. I went back to Christmas 2014. WHU and Sunderland: Played 51 games and scored 51 points. He's no better than what we currently have.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

Sam over Pards. Jesus wept. I despair at times with the fans. If we want to be a progressive club the big crook is not the way forward. I am in the camp we stay with Pardew for a bit longer and see how it goes, I don't think we are that far away. I can also see why fans want a change and want to guarantee survival. If we change, so be it, but at least go for someone who might take us to the next level. Remember at Christmas last year Pardew had steered us into a European spot. You don't become a bad or great manager overnight. No doubt injuries have played and a part and the manager has not dealt with it well however bringing in Sam is not the answer.

His football isn't as bad as people make out, its just a cheap thing to throw at him. He got West ham a top half finish with 51 points. Have we ever got 51 points? we may stay up with Pardew but why take the chance. It'll be difficult to progress the club from the championship.
The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

Pards has changed the way we play but we have the wrong players to make it work particularly at the back. He bought a right winger when we already have a better one and a ball playing goalkeeper who whenever he throws the ball to one of our defenders they sh*t themselves and we lose possession in dangerous areas

Yeah, yeah. Allardyce would put an end to this Champagne football we’ve become used to. And this thing about him being ‘dodgy’. Do people honestly credit Pardew with Saint-like morals? At least with Allardyce you don’t feel like revelations of gambling addiction or sex scandals are always on the horizon.

I don't understand the Dinosaur tag attached to Big Sam. Ex players speak highly of his methods, he got the England job, so can't be that bad. If you're afraid that Palace will go longball then I've got news for you that's what we play! We may have a better retention of the ball and have improved the possession stats, but effectively we play it around the back and then lump a diagonal to Benteke via Delaney or Hennesey (usually back to the other GK in Hennesey's case). People talk about him not being long term, no future planning etc. Who is in the premier league or championship for that matter? With the exception of Wenger and Howe the lifespan of a manager is not a huge amount of time. I admire Parish's loyalty, but there comes a day when he has to realise that it's not working out. We can be inspired by the performances etc but it's points that matter and we've not obtained many of those at Selhurst this year. I'd support Pardew if he took a proportion of the blame, but so far I've seen him criticise the referee and pinpoint various players for not passing on instructions etc. We have had a lot of injuries, but that's the whole point of a squad and I've seen no foresight in his management or recruitment. For a couple of seasons we've been light on the same positions, whether it be a left back, attacking mid and striker. Personally I think it's time to move on, I'm bored of transitional football and the losses that come with this excuse!
