Is it really the manager? I can fully comprehend the anti AP sentiments because we are on a bad run and have had, save for appearing in the worlds most prestigious club cup final, a pretty s*** year.

But...for me...we are actually playing good football, passing the ball much better, got good movement and are getting players in to the box. Unfortunately this new style has left us weaker at the back and that has been exacerbated by Souare's long term injury.

We are making silly mistakes on a regular basis and leaving Toure unmarked two feet from the goal at a corner is a prime example. Many goals though have come from us pushing too many forward without sufficient cover for the counter attack - or more pertinently decent cover with some pace.

I am sure AP is not wanting those players to make these mistakes and any new manager inherits the same players with the same propensity to gift goals to the opposition.

Allardyce would have us back behind the ball in numbers and hoofing the ball forward more in hope than planning. Yes he may keep us up and yes he could churn out the same hoof ball season after season but we do not then grow as a club. We just have more expensive players hoofing it up the pitch. Then he leaves and we get relegated because we have not evolved as a football team.

For now I am sitting tight, backing AP and expecting the silly mistakes to stop. How long I can sit tight I do not know because right now this is becoming something of a white knuckle ride.
