I'd rather Pardew stayed, continuity and all that but those of you saying our league position is down to him, we beat teams we should be beating!

The test, as far as I'm concerned, will be Everton. The only test we've had so far was Spurs away.

We should have beaten West Brom and Bournemouth at home and didn't. Middlesbrough and Sunderland were games we should have had a good chance of winning and Stoke we should have won and did.

By my estimation we are 5 points shy of where we should be, he didn't sign adequate cover in defence. We lost 2 CB in the summer and got 1 in return.

People are blinded by our come back on Saturday rather than seeing what a cock up our defence was when we went 2 down.

I'm not slagging him off just stating what I think the truth is. I'd prefer him to stay but let's not make him out to be a miracle worker.

We've improved but he got us off to a bad start.

Ironic you say that when we now have a cloud hanging over things with AP heading the market to f@ck off and leave the club. These things affect the squad and the entire balance of the club until the FA make an announcement and that could be months.

While I have no expectations of the English national team at all(other than to fail in tournaments) even I would feel ashamed and embarrassed at the prospect of Steve Bruce being appointed England manager. An ugly, duplicitous, two-faced cnut and s*** manager to boot.
And as for Gareth? Nice bloke, great Palace player, good youth team manager but i question whether he has the temperament to manage all the egos in the senior team who seem to think the world owes them the very nice living they earn.

Whilst some would say that you're only as good as your last game, there are some on here that will only assess after the next one - if that last one was a win!

Amazing really isn't it.

You watch all these other clubs sack decent managers and then plummet. Our club would never be that stupid.

Then you come here and read how fans actually want us to part with our decent manager.

Crazy!!

I've learned to ignore them. If I took on board 10% of the sh*t spouted here, I'd have been sectioned long ago.

Why no mention of Trevor Francis or Dave Bassett?

I don't see why we should have any specific right or even ability to beat West Brom - who played better and smarter than us and we drew with Bournemouth - which plenty of teams will do. Perhaps even the top ones. We played well against Spurs but still lost. I expect us to lose against Everton with our current injuries. We have taken points where we should have and we will lose some matches. So you think we should have fifteen points and should be second too? I didn't think we would have the ten we have.

I agree that we will lose some games - as every team does - but that doesn't disregard who we should and shouldn't be beating. Let's look at the six Premierleague games we've played:

West Brom - Poor side that we played at our home ground. This one is the most debatable in my opinion, though.

Spurs - Much better side than us, and definitely wouldn't expect anything from this game.

Bournemouth - Were in very poor form, and still were up until Everton. We dominated the second half, and arguably should have beaten them if we'd put our chance away.

Stoke - A team in very, very poor form and rightly at the bottom of the table.

Middlesbrough - A team realistically looking at a relegation battle, as do most promoted sides. Although in good form, on paper we should be beating them.

Sunderland - A team always in a relegation battle, and should be in another one this season.

Breaking it down like that, we very well could've been second with 15 points. I also fully expect us to drift down the table in the coming five games, where I expect us to lose at least three of those five (Everton (Aw), Leicester (Aw) and Liverpool (H)).

Fair enough - I get your point. I expected us to struggle against half of those sides as we traditionally do not beat poor sides for some reason. This season we have though so far - I think ten points is a decent return. I expected us to have more like 7 points from 6 games. Pardew does currently seem to have the team 'transitioning' in an upward fashion and I wouldn't like to see our progress stalled by him leaving.

Oh yeah, it certainly is, and I half went to the Stoke game thinking we'd lose haha. And no certainly not, I think keeping him at this moment in time is key for this season and the next.

and why no mention of Neil Warnock?
Or on a more serious note Ive heard that Nigel Pearson has been suspended from Derby with immediate effect due to in appropriate behavior. that that would be class- he would just pile in and fight the opposing managers. More entertaining than the football.

So, really, with the possible exception of WBA, it's gone pretty much to form.

So what's your point?

Bet Pulis is one of em. There was the rumour about him buying players with the same agent as himself
