Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes. |

I just hope the result has nothing to do with the ref - and genuinely hope that for all games. (I also hope that Bolasie does not turn on the style for this one). I guess the ultimate Clattenburg combination would be a penalty for Everton and sending off for Steeeve for a foul he did not commit on Yala. Bookies calling.

If memory serves me right it was Trolley sorry Willo, I mean Mark that didn't ref an Everton game for two or three seasons because of previous.

Humour me/us. Assume I'm/we're stupid. What exactly was your justification?

Yes, of course you're allowed to express an opinion. Equally, I'm allowed to query it. Far be it from me to advise a gentleman of 'elder statesman' status like yourself but to advocate Clattenburg as a great referee (as you seem hell-bent on doing) is little short of inflammatory on this site. I realLy do feel that you need to address and (try to) justify the instances I've given you which suggest the opposite. With respect, the opinion of two old buffers of your acquaintance doesn't really cut the mustard, especially when stacked against the welter of opinion that significantly differs. I like you as a poster but your Clattenburg love-in is at significant variance with, dare I say it, the groundswell of opinion on the HOL. Please engage with this point rather than flounce off without at least attempting to justify your comments. There. I've phrased this post in language that you'll understand. I (and I suspect many others) await your measured and considered response in due course. To be brutally honest I am not overly concerned that it is "Inflammatory". At the end of the day all I am doing is expressing my opinion and wouldn't it be boring if we all agreed with one another as part of a gargantuan "Love-In" ? At the end of the day I, and others in football, rate Mark as a top quality referee and if others disagree that is their prerogative.

Let me get this straight: it's your opinion (which it's your absolute right to express) but you're not prepared to defend it when/if challenged. That it is inflammatory is, obviously, of no interest to you. And you still believe that people who think you're a troll are wrong?
