I agree with this. It's not a matter of "better," in my opinion. This seems to be one of those occasions when both teams are improved as a result of these transactions.

I loved Yala and wish him well. I feel Townsend fits what the manager is trying to do, and we ended up with a net gain of about 14 million quid.

Overall, good business for both teams.

I agree.

Bolasie more exciting and edge of 'y seat stuff' with a touch of the unknown. Townsend id more solid and can hit the 'effin target!!!

That's the poorest excuse for consistently crossing balls out of play, shooting into row Z and turning the ball over when trying to take on the same player for the 3rd time i've heard to date.

Regardless of who was up front...very very few crosses ever went into dangerous areas...whether there was a striker in there or not!

Absolute tosh. Many, many crosses have gone begging in the last 3 years. Yes many bad ones too, but name a winger/fullback whose got a 100% success rate in crossing?

The goal Townsend scored on Sunday, running with the ball from the halfway line, was more exciting than anything Yannick has ever done. (Apart from his 3 some with 2 of the crystals)

Did I miss the thread about this, it would make a change from the back biting that goes on at this forum sometimes

Townsend is on another planet !!!
Silly question
And he's younger

In every way Townsend makes Bolasie look like a Sunday League player

I'm nervously looking forward to seeing Yala v Zaha next Friday. Not so much Yala v Ward/Kelly. Papa is the only one who seems capable of keeping up with speedy wingers, so our wingers are going to need to work really hard. Zaha strikes me as the type of character who will want to outshine his mate, so I expect a big performance from him.

I'll try not to think about Lukaku

For me Townsend is a better player, better delivery, brilliant deadballl specialist.

Bolasie may have more tricks but Townsend will put more crosses on Benteke's head and score more goals than Yala.

Really?
Just as frustrating as any other winger IMO.
Really needed him, as well as Yala and Wilf. Competition would of been superb.

It was bolasies decision to go(well him and his agent) no one elses and we have moved on as a club and imo are playing better football despite/because of this.

Say what you like about his time at Palace, he's made a great start at Everton. I think both players are of similar quality but bring completely different things to the game. Bolasie brings chaos, Townsend has more finesse. I think they would have complimented each other well, perhaps better than Wilf and Townsend do together.
