This is the dumbest thing I've ever read on hol and that takes some doing!

It seems as the quality of our squad improves, the inverse happens here. The quality of postings recently has really nose dived.

It's very important to realise if £9m Connor Wickham had been the player Pardew thought he was (and most people with a clue knew he never would be) we would never have signed Benteke.

We have splashed £32m on the Liverpool flop because Wickham has been absolutely terrible - one of the worst buys in the history of the football club.

In fact, so bad that last season we signed £100,000 a-week Adebayor as our new centre-forward for about four months.

That came on the back of the dreadful Sanogo the season before, who kept Murray out of the team until thankfully he got injured.

By the way Glenn then came in and scored a goal every other game, plus put in one of the best Number 9 displays ever seen at Selhurst Park vs Manchester City.

So, I make that around £43m to replace a Dougie Freedman free transfer.

Keep up the good work Alan!

The Glen Murray who we sold as he was not getting a game and then went on to disappear from Bournemouths match day squad within 4 games?
The one bombed out to Brighton this season?
I think your perspective on players is a little off!
Move on mate!!!!!

Murray's the man Flag round ear 07 Sep 16 9.49pm

With Murray in the squad we finished 11th and 10th, and last season without him we finished 15th. Parish admitted it was a mistake letting him go.

Think some said FFP concerns contributed to his departure brought on by Parish wanting Sako

Doesn't mean we'd have finished higher if we kept him.

Hey I know the answer as long as we have Murray in our side no matter his age, we'll finish mid table.

Perfect solution for the next 50 years.

Well done!

Seriously someone call Parish and tell him to sell Wickham, Benteke and Remy.

Get Murray back from Brighton and save the £50M, this guy has it solved!!!!

I'm not so sure about that considering we brought in Adebayor 4 months later on £67k and double Murray's wage for half the time. I.e - the same season wage.

I don't think £4 mil transfer fee would've pushed us over FFP or we would've done the same as this year and sold Murray or whoever earlier before buying.

It was probably because we had more strikers than were going to play.

Wickham, Campbell, chamakh, gayle, Murray.

One was always going to be let go and gayle wouldn't go to Bristol city.

Personally I think Parish has been trying to overhaul the squad for a while hence taking money for aging players when he can and letting them move on.

Yes he held his hands up that Murray timing wasn't ideal. But sometimes you have to move them when the option is there.

Same with Jedi and to a lesser extent Gayle. On top of that everyone else that has been moved on. Has made space for the current squad we have now.

Which on paper is bloody brilliant for us.

But of course the golden ticket would be if Murray was still here.

Wonder if we could get him back in Jan?

No doubt someone will still be whinning for him then.
