Kenny is in hospital with it being reported as a head injury. Whether this is drink related we may never know, I sincerely hope he has a full recovery and wish him all the best in his personal issues.

Jimmy Greaves always reckoned Bobby Moore drank far more than he did but was fine with it. Same thing at Arsenal where Adams, Merson, Parlour and a few others ended up with problems while Niall Quinn kept on throwing Guinness down his neck.

I've told this story before. In the late eighties I worked with a girl whose father bought Samson's house which was in a private estate in Chislehurst. Samson was downsizing due to money problems and did a house swap with them moving to their more modest home in Bromley. He was still playing at that time but I guess this was all due to money and alcohol problems. It must have been tough on his family when their lifestyle should have been going one way and yet even whilst playing it was on the downward slope. I gave up drinking as I had a problem although never as bad as Kenny I hope he recovers but as others have said there is only one person who can help you and that is yourself. Get well soon Kenny.
I believe Kenny was also a huge gambler. Not a good combo, drink and gambling.

When I gave up alcohol my friends told me I was crazy as I didn't have a problem in their eyes but you don't have to be drinking cider on a park bench at 9am to be an alcoholic. It affects people differently I was not a binge drinker or a big drinker of shorts I was an habitual drinker 7 days a week and gradually I noticed that my intake was increasing. Anyway some people can handle it others can't.
