This will be of interest Some other surprising and welcome news today (in addition to the announcement of a General Election), on the planning decision for the 17 storey tower at Purley Cross. The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government has "called in" the planning decision by Croydon Council and which was also supported up by the London Mayor. Cheers HeathMan

Surely a large development like this will help to reduce property prices in the area, which can only be good news.

...it goes on until 5pm this evening and is being held in the church hall next to the site itself if anyone wants to go along. Lots of good arguments being put forward apparently. The church still want their 30 pieces of gold.

30 pieces of silver may be more apt. The vicar is planning to move away before it's finished. How convenient.
