Said it before but will repeat anyway. Spurs were happy to offload and he's now at a club on the verge of relegation. Someone has already commented that he might not want to compete for a place. If true, that's a b*ll*cks attitude. His PL stats have been quoted and don't stack up to that much. Woefully one-footed and a squad player at best which, for £70k plus a week would not be very good business at all. If you're in any doubt, that's a "No" from me thanks. He’s certainly doing the business for Newcastle and is the first name on the team sheet every Saturday. At spurs he was cast aside for more expensive foreign imports, can’t blame his for wanting a change. His cross against Sunderland for Mitrovic to header in the equaliser was with his right foot from deep, how often do we see Zaha use his left effectively? Still, Zaha is a quality asset. Far as I see it, he may not have the skills of Zaha and Bolasie but he’s direct and effective in cutting in and taking shots, something that we have been severely lacking in the final third all season. He adds another dimension to our attacking wing play and has also been effective when behind the striker. It’s a yes from me.

After seeing him pretty much singlehandedly trying to stave off relegation I would like to see us get a bid in for him if they go down. Likewise Sissokho.

Only 24, played games for England, direct goal threat. I'd take him all day long.

Relying on a youngster after 1st and 2nd choice is a recipe for failure. If you listen to any ex player he'll say you ideally need your 1st 2 and then 1 who's pushing and 1 who's either in his twilight years and happy to sit it out or 1 who's coming through. That's why Brede wasn't such a bad stand in, but we were lucky to only use 3 at CB. I'd be happy to see Sako and/or Chungy go and bring in Townsend and a number 10 and def mid. You'd then have Wilf, Yala, Andros and Punch if required as wingers. Punch and a new number 10 or Cabaye as number 10's, and Jimmac, Cabaye and a new def mid. A bit of interchanging with decent players in all positions rather than Championship players and others being uncomfortable being shifted about around them. Totally agree with this. Plus CB cover for the future... Oh and £8M that's a bargain! Edited by Goldfiinger (09 May 2016 7.34pm)
