A sign of how low we've sunk that I am even concerned about this

Agreed 4-6 points from the last 9 games should NOT be a problem, but at the moment, it bloody well is!

Not really, if we can't get 4-6 points from 10 games, we deserve to be relegated irrespective of who well Newcastle's new manager does.

Good point.

And we've already gone 12 without a win, another 10 is unthinkable, as jamie says we'd deserve it.

Edit - its another 9 but same applies, 21 games without a win? Not going to happen.

Their remaining fixtures:

Leicester v Newcastle
Newcastle v Sunderland
Norwich v Newcastle
Southampton v Newcastle
Newcastle v Swansea
Liverpool v Newcastle
Newcastle v Crystal Palace
Aston Villa v Newcastle
Newcastle v Tottenham

I reckon their 12 to 15 points there for them. They should have got rid of the clown before the Bournemouth game though.

If I were a Newcastle fan, I'd be targeting wins from the bold games, and hope to pick up some scraps elsewhere. They still have a chance.

Compared to our run in,Newcastle should have little problem picking up the necessary points to survive and will be very motivated with a new high class manager.

Still feel we will have to rely on Norwich and Sunderland to underperform in order to stay up as Villa look doomed.

I know, that's just the pessimist in me speaking. Newcastle have got a fairly decent run in though. If we can't get at least 9 points from our run-in, we do deserve to drop.

I really cannot see us getting 9 pts from our run-in.
Possibly 38 pts will be enough this season.

Stranger things have happened, Willo. If we don't get past Norwich with at least a win, then I will begin to worry.

Does anyone think that if we were in Newcastle's position we would be able to lure Benitez to our club ?
Absolutely NOT !
He has gone to a club with a modern stadium, 50,000 fans at Home games and fanatical fans at that.
