If it is Sako, where does it leave players like Mutch and Lee? Also praying it doesn't mean Bolasie is going anywhere. Does look a better prospect than Lee at the moment though. Edited by Mad4palace (05 Aug 2015 10.55am) Plus Chamakh when he's fit! Another potential backup role for Gayle on the wing now gone too. Gayle and/or Frazier must be off now as they wont fit in the 25 man squad!
...and Neil Shipperley has! |

Sako would be great backup for Wilf and Yannick. Building a proper squad with a minimum of two quality players in each position. A centre back would top it all off now

15 goals and 10 assists from an attacking midfielder seems very exciting to me. And only 27, and on a Free...sounds like fantastic business. I am a little concerned as to why Wolves would let him go with those kinds of figures, but as always, I think AP and SP know what they are at

Have said for a while we need another winger. I know people moan about the depth of the midfield (as if that's a bad thing!?), but we haven't got enough options out wide. Lee looks promising, but is a different proposition to Zaha and Yala. Puncheon has the composure and ability to offer something, but his lack of real pace hinders how dynamic we are moving the ball forward. Mutch is a central midfielder, probably at 10 if need be. All our best midfielders are central players, so signing a wide player doesn't interfere with any selection issues.
I think Sako will be a decent addition. I think he will come in realising he won't be first choice. A bit like Brede, he'll be a good squad player who will do the job when called upon. Saying that though, I would've preferred a youngster to have been blooded. Kai Kai has had a half decent pre-season and it would be nice to see him get a chance. Completely unknown to the prem and could provide something different as defenders start to work out Wilf and Yala as the season goes on.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Bakary Sako in talks with Palace' by Moose Released from wolves as he did not want to renew his contract and wanted to play at a higher level. He is a quality player strength power and speed and is a good addition to the squad. We do have a packed midfield as it stands, one does wonder if bolasie may be on his way out? If so sako is the ideal replacement, if not he adds to the exciting wing talent we already have. All we need now is a centre back and we will be done.
