Decent stopper but with injury problems and a rumoured £6 million price tag and being 33 it's a no from me.
If he was available on a free i would take him.

The fellahs on TalkSport, y'know that radio station that runs a 24-hour loop of adverts with occasional windows of chat, were definitely in the negative camp. They described Colo as 'flakey' and although capable of some good performances was equally likely to put in a shocker.

I like this. Think he will go for 2 million or so and would represent good value. Much prefer Colo as a two year stop-gap until Kelly or Innis are really ready to play week in, week out than 8 million for Chester or Caulker. Yes, Colo can be brilliant or flakey but that said, who has shined for Newcastle recently? Alongside Dann, Ward and Souare and with McJedley in front of him, Colo will be in a situation where a CH can really excel. For me, a low-risk, high-ceiling move that brings a player who can also help transition to the style that Pards wants to play. If he's available, get him in.

If we added him to our list of ageing Centre Backs it would make us alarmingly pedestrian in the middle of our defence. As good as Dann is he's not that quick either. I would rather go for someone younger and quicker.

I would rather go for someone younger and quicker. I don't think Collocini and Dann would be alarmingly pedestrian pairing. The fact that you can say that shows how far we have come. The bottom line is that they'd be solid, top 10 Premier League quality. Top 4, obviously not but they'd perfectly reasonable for a team aiming to finish 5th - 10th. You're right that speed wouldn't be their greatest asset but they're not leaden either and good positioning sense (which they have) makes up for a shortage of pace, at least to some extent. Yes, I would prefer someone younger too but rather than risk 8 million on Chester, who is good but also has a limitation (height), I would much prefer to spend 2 million or so on a "good" player like Collocini while giving Ryan Innis or Martin Kelly a couple of years to really mature into the full-time shirt (which either is capable of doing but neither is probably quite ready yet.) Also, it's always said that goals are what makes the difference in the Prem and that being the case, I'd rather spend any extra money on a scorer because he will have a bigger impact. If we have 16 million to spend, say, I'd rather spend 14 million on a CF and 2 million on Collocini than 8 million on Chester and 8 million on a forward. Remember, we are aspiring to a Europa League place and I think a defence of Ward, Souare, Dann and Collocini is capable to delivering that.

Most NUFC can't wait to get shot of him and Williamson. I have a feeling our next CB will come out of now where and shock everyone. Either take a risk on someone abroad or in the Championship. Either a player from France or Holland or someone like Grant Hanley.

I was talking to someone about Williamson only last night.Certainly an uncompromising central defender who does the basics first.Gives 100% and puts his head in where it hurts.I was also told that he was the son of a Port Vale supporter ! Tony Adams signed him on 'Loan' for Wycombe W, then John Gorman signed him on a permaent deal for the club.Brendan Rodgers took him to Watford and he was there at the same time as Mariappa. Chris Hughton signed him for Newcastle.

There's definitely something worrying about buying a player from Newcastle that Ashley couldn't sell.

As long as he gets a decent haircut I think he would do a good job for us.
