Quote Willo at 07 Mar 2015 11.15am

Breakdown of MPs in three main parties in 2010 :

Conservative 306, Labour 258, Lib Dem 57

In Scotland : Labour 41, Lib Dem 11, SNP 6 Conservative 1

Number of MPs to gain an overall majority in Parliament is 326.

With the collapse of the Lib Dem vote and of Labour in Scotland can the Conservatives not get an extra 20 seats to form an overall majority ????

Edited by Willo (07 Mar 2015 11.26am)

Polls are saying the Tories are on course to win 10 Lib Dem seats, so that puts them on 316 before you take Tory seats turning Labour into account. But it looks like there are at least 20 seats going from Tory to Labour (like Croydon Central), so they'd be around 295 and if the Lib Dems are down to 36 seats, that's a majority of 5 in coalition.

Conservatives winning seats in Scotland - no. Lib Dems are more likely to go Green or Labour. I'd be amazed if the Tories got as many seats as in 2010.

If the Conservatives don't increase their number of seats on the back of an economic revival there WILL be questions "Asked in the house".

Since 2010, Conservatives have been getting Britain's economy back on track, cutting the deficit, backing businesses, creating jobs.

The plan is working. Britain's economy is recovering. But Labour's plans for more spending, more borrowing and more debt would wreck the progress the country has made - and mean chaos for the economy and higher taxes for hardworking families.

Think I shall now get off my "Soapbox" !

Osborne has created more debt than all other labour governments combined. Yes very successful.

Typical socialist hogwash.

At the end of the day it is NO accident that last year Britain was the fastest growing of any major economy. It's NO accident that there are more people in work than ever before in our country.

Anyway, I have to get off my "Soapbox" now as I am about to join up with fellow Conservatives !

Have you got the data to prove Britain had the fastest growing economy?

Surely most of our debt is what was inherited from Gordon.

Vote for policies and find out who that means you support after. Although it is largely academic, because they will rarely stick to these proposed policies. Don't even have to do every policy, just the ones you care about, for me it was NHS and Education that were the most important so I got labour.

I was making a statement of absolute fact - most of the National Debt, as of this minute, was inherited. The deficit is still a deficit, and until it's a surplus the debt won't come down, so we need more merciless austerity.
