He really is good - I've got alot of time for him.

Articulate and incisive, which most pundits are not.

Funny how, when he put on a football shirt, I thought he was the biggest knob ever, but now he's the exact opposite.

Indeed, I like the way he takes a neutral stance with every match, even Utd. ones. Something that Carragher has a lot to learn from.

The bold sums it up perfectly.

"They got his own song 'He's just too good for you', it's quite unbelievable but when you see it and he's facing up someone - I actually feel sorry for them, 'Cos he actually is" - Ian Holloway

Henry Winter in the Independant about Liverpool

They needed to appreciate that the Palace fans’ phenomenal, unconditional, impassioned backing would inspire Bolasie and company

Last night he put on Twitter

#cpfc losing but loud. Some clubs have singing sections. At Palace, every section is a singing section

I like Henry

Again at one point last night the whole, and I mean whole ground was just bouncing and the noise was phenomenal..about the only people sitting were the subs bench and Willo

Thats what I love about our club - we do have seem to have developed this 'unconditional' support from somewhere

I hope thats stays and we dont attract those with expectations and unrealistic ones at that...that just leads to moaning and groaning and the dilution of the passion and noise.

I dont want to be West Ham, booing even when they win because of a misguided belief in their team and its position in life

I dont want to be Arsenal, complaining about the noise in the away end when they play us with each goal being accompanied by polite clapping

I dont want to be Man Utd, a stadium full of day trippers who dont distinguish between a day at Old Trafford and a Day at Madame Tussauds

I dont want to be Chelsea who employ staff to wave flags and try to shake their now middle class support from its middle class expectaion and middle class apathy..

I have serious man love for this club at the moment

The seeds have always been there in our time Sash. Remember the 5,000-8000 crowds? We were still as noisy as fvck in the AW and those were the days we literally had nothing really to shout about.

And the away support has always always been generally magnificent from way back before then even.

Those seeds have now fully germinated with another 15,000 on board at Selhurst.

A memorable season indeed.

True Kerms - although we still did have a moan an groan - well I did anyway - mainly at Gary Stebbing or when Carlisle turned us over at home with about 25 in the ground (well it seemed like it at the time)

Yeah but in those days we would take 1000s away,I think we have always been a love affair with our club.
Its in the blood and always will be.

always a Norwood boy, where ever I live.

I keep reading or hearing about our third goal being either a long-ball hack or a Liverpool error. It was neither. It was fvcking class. Superb goal.

The irony?

Surridge's second goal came from a long ball from Gerrard. What did MOTD have to say to that? Brilliant.

It was absolutely brilliant. Muzza passed the ball with his chest, it was sublime.

Gerrard was hitting long balls into players all night - we do it once and are long ball

This is all quite nostalgic. I remember MOTD in the 70's being BBC Scouselove.

MOTD - Robbie Fowler and Didi Hamman
Sky - Presume Paul Walsh and Jan Molby as saw them climb the gantry ?

f*** up the Scouse w@nkfest did we ????

Oh and thanks to MOTD for totally ignoring the HF display in favour of a Uruguayan flag in the scouse end the size of a tea towel

Didn't watch sky (at the game) but watched MOTD when I got home. Usual lip service to us then 20 minutes of mutual Liverpool masturbation.

Fowler even said our third goal was the result of a "pump forward" (ie, long ball). F*ck off was it, Dann was on the halfway line and chipped it nicely to Murray on the edge of the box, to chest it down for Gayle to smash home. That's not a long ball. Gerrard was trying 40-yard balls out of defence all night. No-one calls him a long-ball merchant.

No matter what Pulis does some idiots (Rodgers, Fowler) seem to think they have a monopoly on passing the ball and that TP's teams cannot play. Well f*ck them, we can play. We defend yes, but when we break we do it with pace, power and skill and showed them tonight what we can do.

Beautiful it was too

The post-mortem over here on NBCSN was similar, except the two Robbies, Earle and Mustoe, slated Liverpool's defense while giving Palace and TP credit for a never say die attitude. Earle was particularly complimentary of TP for having the courage to change the attacking focus with Gayle and Murray and taking off Puncheon even though he;s been the in-form player. The focus is on the title race, which Liverpool is a part of and we are not. However, all have been saying that Palace has been a definite influence by beating Chelsea and denying Liverpool two points. Also, much more focus on the supporters, with match commentators Arlo White and old Gooner Lee Dixon both making much of the "best supporters in the Prem" being at Selhurst Park. White's call of the third goal, "Gayle, HE SCOOORES!. ASTONISHING SCENES AT SEL-HURST PARK!" were at full voice. Lee Dixon's analysis gave Gayle full credit while slating Liverpool's defense. Same with Bolasie's run and Gayle's finish for the second goal. I also watched the Barclay League's highlight package and the call of third goal was eerily reminiscent of John Motson's "Gray, three-three!" in 1990, coming over as "Gayle, three-three." Back on NBCSN, White made mention of 1990, saying 4-3 was still possible but Palace didn't come back from 0-3 down back then.

Their first goal was after Ledley got mugged in our penalty area.
Our first goal was after Gerrard got mugged in our penalty area.

They had a deflected goal.
We had a deflected goal.

They scored a goal off an inch-perfect long pass from the halfway line.
We scored a goal off an inch-perfect long pass from the halfway line.

They scored two goals in two minutes in the 2nd half.
We scored two goals in two minutes in the 2nd half.

They scored a goal that came from a sweeping move that went end-to-end in a flash, and was set up by great interplay between their two strikers.

And yet, the pudnits (sic) on TV see all of this as being two different things when, clearly, the events were near-mirrors of each other.

Now you mention it...

Although things like the deflection are not directly comparable. Ours helped us more. Not to cheapen Delaney's great strike, of course.

I hope the pundits carry on like this to be honest. I don't care if we don't get the credit we deserve, if it means people like BR will come down and expect to put 10 past us and leave their goal exposed.

Sorry, caught up with MOTD2 last night, I don't think Fowler really said anything wrong. He was talking about Johnson's defending, he mentions a ball being pumped forward and the control displayed by Murray but his point was that Johnson should have been closer to Gayle.

If that's as bad as it gets then I think we are all getting a tad over sensitive
