I heard the tea lady at Selhurst Park sneezed. I believe the black death is visiting the old stand.

I was only 10-12 years old in the Pardew era but from what I remember of him he was completely and utterly toilet.I was young but all my family confirm that my young memory is pretty good.

I'm a similar age and I remember him vividly as being a terrible player. He's also a massive c*ck.

He uses it on a regular basis, if the stories are to be believed.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Looked very moody and pensive when the camera cut to him during the lap of honour, I thought.

Was thinking how to spend £73 million .

Pardew had his moments, but he was a pretty average player. Still unproven as a manager - in terms of silverware. That's what Palace need next. TP can do. Loving it since the Bert Head days!

You obviously never saw him play did you? Average is massively exaggerating his ability.

Pardew was signed from non league for a very small fee and despite getting made scapegoat by a section of the support, provided to be a very useful player in that side. On all accounts a proper lad off the field, and great for team spirit. Always seemed to get the ball down and play short passes too, which was something of a rarity in that side, great as it was.

I've heard the same SE.My cousin and uncle met him in a club in his Palace days and apparently he came across as the ultimate cnut.

Starting to get a little concerned about it all to be honest. Would be typical of us not to keep TP now.

Yes. Typical! If only we had intelligent, astute and wise owners to take the club forward. Business men who know how to play the transfer market and get the best players for the right money. Who know their football and are prepared to stand by their manager through the toughest of times. If only we were a team like Crystal Palace. Oh hold on....!?!

Yeah but who famously put the ball in the scousers' net to get us to our one and only cup final?

For that we should be eternally grateful.

Happiness Stan, not happy. Ironic.

I'm perfectly chipper thank you. You must be confusing passing on some unwelcome news, with being annoyed, or some s***.

It's funny the reaction you get for passing on a rumour. If it's not a good one, you get shot down and attacked. I'm not pushing any agenda, as I've said I'd be gutted to lose Pulis, he's the best thing to happen to us in years.

Fact is we will have to do very well to keep him. He is not a saint, with palace in his blood, he is a very driven, ambitious manager, who wants to achieve as much as possible in the game. We should not take him for granted.

Eh ? I'm perfectly chipper thank you. I was sticking up for Pardew, who although took time to adapt to higher level with us, became a good player in the end.

Either that or you must be confusing my passing on some unwelcome news, with being annoyed, or some s***.

Absolutely, he is CP 's prime asset. He (and SP) will obviously negotiate very hard to get what they want from the £75m pot of money. But they have now forged a decent working relationship
So whilst there may well be a lot of hard talking, there's no reason to suppose they won't come to sensible agreements
