Sometimes they're given, sometimes they're not - but it is a contact sport and that kind of play is also exactly the kind of play Allerdyce's teams themselves employ. Having seen the challenge on Ramerez (Sunderland vs Chelsea) if that wasn't a foul, nor was the Jedi's Same old Sam, always hard done by.

Just a thought, would Jedi's challenge on Carroll not have been classed as obstruction and therefore and indirect free kick?
