We are not safe and I remember the Oldham year all to painfully but TP is an utter professional and will not let the players focus drop. A win against Villa and that will be enough, a draw and then a draw from either West Ham or Everton will also be enough. There could be the case of us going to Fulham safe and them needing a win to stay up!

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

It ain't over till it's over. Every chance we could screw up against Villa, who will be scrapping for their lives. If that happens, it's hard to imagine where we'll get any additional points we need to counter a late run of results by one of our rivals. Certainly don't want to go to Fulham with anything still at stake...

Well I did not expect 6 against Chelsea and Cardiff.
6 Games left to get some more.
We will give anybody a good game at the moment.
We are very difficult to beat.

If the nightmare came true and we lost to Villa, everything could suddenly look very different. Let's just hope we bag the three points.

3 Points from Villa and its all over.

3 (Cardiff, Fulham, Sunderland) teams basically have to turn their season round and do something that they haven't managed all season which is to get 4 wins from 5 games Or from sunderlands POV 4 from 7. Even then, it will be reliant on us not picking up 3 points from 15 available.

Sunderland have the hardest run in, no doubt they will get some points unexpectedly, but its too much for them, to surpass us at least. Same for Cardiff and Fulham.

....If we win next week.

There could be a lot of twists and turns before the end of the season and a few surprises. It could well go down to the 'wire' as far as we are concerned.

Same for Cardiff and Fulham.

I was speaking to a Fulham supporter the other day who had given up all hope of his team staying up. Yet and yet, IF they beat Norwich (Who are not good away from home) they will only be 2 pts behind the 'Canaries' and Norwich's remaining games are against Arsenal,Chelsea, Liverpool and Man C !

Just wish someone would dig that thread up from last season when that gloating piece of s*** came on here giving it the biggun ahead of our showdown at their ground. Telling us how s*** we were compared to them etc.

Oh, here we go:

The 2nd link is so fitting whilst reading it, trust me.

Just before we played you at christmas a few of your fans said you were gonna thrash us as we had "no flair" someone also posted this on our message board. Made everyone laugh and we have had great pleasure reminding you ever since.

Dont worry guys "we'll never play you again...."

It's still all very tight. It wouldn't surprise me if Fulham beat Norwhich next week and with their remaining fixtures if that happens I think Norwhich will go down.
3 points from Villa and we will be pretty much safe unless some disastrous miracle happens.

Norwich have lost their last 6 'Away' league games.

I wouldn't say far from safe, but you can't really rest until you've finished the season. It'd take a miracle to keep Cardiff up now, but we need three more points to really feel safe.

3 points against Villa, and we're talking about where we can finish, and not what we have to do to stay up. No point taking the foot off the gas, we still need to try to get the best result each week. We can still decide who wins the league.

After all Pulis has never finished lower than 15th, it be nice if we could keep his never relegated record intact and finish above 15th place.

It'd be a great season if we could also take some points from City and from Liverpool to hang alongside that Chelsea scalp.

Fulham have the quality and the history of last minute survivals to avoid being written off. Fulham's problem seems to be that quality hasn't really forged into a team.

I can see them still in it on the last day of the season. Cardiff and Sunderland I think are gone (unless Sunderland can get a win today).

Weren't all the Cardiff fans resting their laurals on beating us on saturday?

I am optimistic, but its still going to be a close call. We do need to beat Villa but still, thats one big game! Form wise our better then them at the moment and are favorites to win, but thats not enough for me. Its one game that we could mess up or get unlucky in.

All I'm saying is, it doesnt matter who we are playing, the point is, when you are basing survival on a single 90 mins of football, its still a little desperate. If we needed one win, and we had 3 winnable games, then maybe that would be a different story.

Then again, we have a possible 9 points to collect - villa, west ham and fulham..!

So we should be able to do it!

And they have conceded a lot of goals from set-pieces this season.
