Zaha is a Championship player who had a couple of great games in significant matches for us last season. He'll be back where he belongs next season....with Cardiff.
Oh my. Quite stunning. There are, I don't know, 500 players in the championship ? Wilfried Zaha was voted the Young Player of the Year, then the Player of the Year by 499 other professionals. A lot of whom had to try and mark him. In the team of the year last year. Before teams started putting 2/3 players on him he was destroying teams as we went to the top of the league, and even after caused massive problems for them. He's a young man who has moved away from his family for the first time. A confidence player, who needs to know his manager thinks hes amazing, and 'arm around the shoulder' player. If you want the best out of him, that's how you have to manage him. Moyes clearly hasn't. And while it is yet to be seen how good he can be in the prem - Moyes ensured Man Utd wouldn't get the opportunity to see that. Bet your bottom dollar if Ferguson was still there he'd have played more games, be competing for a place in the starting XI and showing his true potential. Whatever that is. It is because of this as much as anything else, that Moyes will not succeed at Man Utd. For today, if Ward is on him and the wingers track back I think we can keep him quiet. Be amazed if he scores, even more amazed if he celebrates.
When he first got to Cardiff the local fans got frustrated with him, sound familiar? (Puncheon). But we know he has the talent to turn pretty much anyone inside out when he is having a good day. His good days were in fits and starts for us but, as I recall, he tended to do well in the big games. This is a big game and in any case he is playing against players that largely came from the Championship. Fortunately Ward is our best player and Mariappa is coming good, hard to predict how this will go. In fact I think he is going to be invisible and will get substituted but I stand by to eat my words. I reckon they will let him switch wings to see if he gets more joy on one than the other.

Ha honestly you'd think Zaha was messi the way some of you are going on...... I hope they do play him, coz he will spend his games running up his own arse, blasting over or wide and crossing it to the far touch line. He will be subbed by 65 mins and will go missing half way through first half. Oscar, hazard, ozil , Adam Johnson, routledge etc etc are all far better players and they ain't exactly ripped us apart. All today will do is prove to TP that we don't need him

I think its a perfect chance for Bolasie to take the light away from Zaha in this game.

FFS Guys he will not leave Wards pocket. He has not been unplayable at all in this league and often runs into blind alleys. He us not unplayable and I would go as far to say Yannick has been much better in this league. Ward needs a bigger pocket at present....

I think my point has been proved. Just hope Parish doesn't want him back but I don't think Pulis would touch him with a bargepole Edited by effingham (05 Apr 2014 4.57pm)

Wilf has had a year that has stymied his development, he looks unconfident in the extreme which just isn't him - he would be a different player back at Palace....Mark Miwurdz
