For my part the football is horrendous and I know it won't change next season.

The football has been horrendous for years other than that run we had before Xmas in the championship ,
Even under Dougie we were awful to watch and rarely attacked including the Cardiff Semi final year.

I would argue the football was far worse under Freedman. For me the last time we played attractive free flowing attacking football that had an end product was under Steve Bruce! That was over 12 years ago.

I know we've been a long ball team for years and it's nothing I'm proud of. The semi final against Cardiff where we just decided to park the bus was an embarrassment, but apart from the brief spell under Dougie at least we tried to win games. I'm not asking for us to play like Arsenal, but no one else in this division is just giving the opposition the ball and just putting nine behind the ball.
Sometimes you have spells where nothing seems to go in and you say "One day soon a team is gonna get a real spanking, when it all falls into place." Well it works both ways and one day soon if TP's tactic goes wrong we, are gonna get a right spanking from someone.
Just my opinion.

I see where you are coming from DM although as we all know TP job is too keep CP out of the bottom 3 and at the moment we are he sees the best way of doing that is playing 10 behind the ball working hard at shutting all space down in our half.
It's working but only just ....it's a fine line between us getting something and losing comfortably at the moment .

Really ? What about last year ? Champ POTY, top goalscorer in the league and highest scorers in the championship ?

Stoke fan in peace, also.

Posted on here before his appointment.

I said at the time he would be the best, and only manager to keep you up. Im pleased Im right so far.

Tough games coming up. Seems he still hasn't got the approach right away from home. Always sets the team up not to concede, very frustrating. His pragmatic approach is reasonable for the first couple of seasons, but when your established, this strategy can be very frustrating.

However, he's the right man for a dogfight. He will prioritise the games he knows he can get points from, and will communicate this, with great effect, to the players. You won't go down .

As a man, he is someone I would follow into war. You may already know, but I will repeat it for those who are not aware. AstonVilla at home, two years ago. We were told by the PA that his mother had died, and would not be attending the game. One nil down at half time. The start of the the second half, Tone jogs onto the pitch. We won 2 1. Thats the measure of the man.

As for us? We seem to have recovered from the transition, and now playing some lovely stuff. We seem to have survived the many blips, and are looking good for next season. Remember, we have four years over you guys, and have the back ground stuff in place. (Training facilities etc.)

We, however, owe it all to Pulis. If he keeps you up this season, I don't doubt he has learnt from his time at Stoke, and will make the necessary changes to take you forward.

I admit i was not singing from the roof tops when he was appointed, but he has done a good job there is no denying that.

We are hard to beat, but we have seem to have lost our cutting edge of late and we have seen some of the worst finishing i have ever witnessed.

A professional footballer should be able to hit the target from 12 yards with the ball at his feet unchallenged. TP has picked the players that can't do this. My feeling is he wants big physical players that are combative and know how to defend, but the trade off is they have limited skills and can't create goal scoring opportunities.

If he keeps us up, it's job done. On the other hand if we go down, it will be what might have been.....

Sans Pulis, our relegation would have been confirmed some time ago. As un-pretty as our style of play is, it's the only thing that's kept us in contention to stay up.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

They are, Cardiff last week had around 31% of the ball, no doubt the other relegation contenders are about the same. We're (us relegation contenders) just not good enough, that's why we are where we are.

Hi Ade, are you stalking me?

Anyway, what to do...keep doing what we're doing. I think we're gonna be ok. I'm gonna check tonight on MOTD and make a note of the amount of ball the other relegation candidates have!

What we are doing of course. TP knows his stuff. We have moved onto simple survival mode quicker than the others at the bottom and we will be better schooled in defending for our lives. Then if we can nick a goal or two we will be fine.

DM, I would put a fairly large bet on against us getting spanked from here on in.

My one hope is we are safe early enough where we can have a couple of games with nothing riding on them so we can try out some new approaches.
