Yes, as you say Eastend, the system was set up for someone to score when the chance came. But why was it KG and not Murray. A horrible, screwed up shot. What must have gone through KG head. He seemed to snatch at it. Not the right man in that position. But TP really has to gamble with the system to create more or we may be stuffed eventually.

Murray had been substituted so would have been a miracle if it had fallen to him.

Exactly!

Also agree. He offers nothing & missing that chance to score possibly cost us the 3 points today.
I was disappointed to see he had made the team again. Not good enough & needs to be replaced by Ledley.

KG may be the reason for the 0 in Sunderland. It's the system, not him.

The systems fine, I don't like singling players out but if KG scored his sitter we would have won away from home against a better footballing side therefore the system was the correct approach winning 1 0= 3 points staying up, losing 4 3= no points and relegation.

Can't be dealing in ifs. If Sunderland had scored one of their few chances we'd have lost 1-0 and the system would look stupid. Sunderland probably had more half chances than we did too in the round.

I also dislike the idea which some people have that "if we would have attacked we would end up losing 4-3". Frankly Sunderland are a bad football team who were there for the taking and I don't see why we couldn't have won convincingly if we had played with some attacking intent and put out a lineup more capable of keeping some semblance of possession.

..I feel it was more down to how all the players actually performed than Pulis, in this game quite a few lost the plot and that resulted in us looking even more poor, Sunderland's players took the initiative and kept it with the wind ...not Pulis's fault.

I just want to say well done KG, he played so well yesterday, so different than against Southampton and two memories were a nice little nutmeg and nicely picked through ball to Yannick

I also suggested that Ledley should replace KG but he did play well yesterday. Well worth his place in the team if he can perform like that each week.

had a great game. was very solid in the middle with Jedi.

KG and Jedi, along with Ledley won the battle of midfield on Saturday!

I like the fact that people pounce on KG (an easy target IMO) when Cameron Jerome/puncheon/bolaise who are forward players btw have been hitting the upper holmesdale all season.

KG is a superb foil for Jedi in that dmf position...he isn't in the team to score, he is there to break up play.

If your looking to pinpoint somebody for missing chances and make threads like this, then our striker, Cameron Jerome is the one to look at.

I've said it before, but Saturday confirmed in my mind that KG is positionally the most intelligent player in our midfield. Watch the whole game and notice just how many times he happens to be in the right place at the right time, to make that 5 yard pass or nick the ball away from an attacker.

It's not luck, and his reading of the game allows Jedinak to be much more aggressive, and go looking for interceptions.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

I agree to an extent. KG is usually a great player or a terrible one. It really depends on the KG that turns up. On a good day he is great to have in your side.
