Any more conspiracy theory's from DangerMouse, Did Armstrong really land on the moon? Did the CIA shoot Kennedy? Stop making asumptions based on nothing your post about Chamakh and Pulis trying to drive him out of the team is quite possibly the most ridiculous post I have ever seen. Love the Anti-Pulis brigade resorting to this kind of Scraping the Barrel.

Managers should not, in my opinion, criticise players in public. A managers job is to fully support his team. Staff will always try harder if they work for a loyal manager. A managers job is not about appealing to the supporters it is about getting the team to play as well as they can. Public criticism is a sign of weakness in a manager not strength.

Apart from this I think TP is doing a brilliant job and I like his straightforward interview style

I agree its a bit dodgy to criticise players in public, but at least he is criticising himself in public too, which he took the blame yesterday for the poor first half.

ummm....my take is that Murray makes the most of a clumsy challenge and puts away a great penalty and he is a hero. Thomas looks to draw a challenge which if there was one could have resulted in a penalty but instead get's booked and cops a fine. There is a very fine line between success and failure but at least he is back as he was looking good before he got injured.

I think that it was justified to criticise Thomas publicly for that. If Pulis hadn't the media would have jumped all over it, instead it was instantly dealt with and it made it a non-story. It also sent the message to the rest of the team that if you embarrass the club by trying to cheat you will be publicly called on it...its the lesson that Young needed a few years ago rather than being protected.

On the positive I thought Thomas looked good, I hope that he learns from this, moves on and contributes to us staying up.

Can anybody actually confirm that they saw Chamakh dive?

Even on MOTD2, they said they didn't know what Pulis was talking about...

Very good management to state this publically at this stage of the season. Referees will be watching and if it helps us get just one 50/50 decision in the box before the end of the season, because subconsciously the referee won't fear being duped by a dive, it could make the difference between us staying up or going down.

Great point there Mezzer, here's hoping we get that all important penalty winner against Chelski!!! And Jerome Thomas scores it! Ollie's Dad,Ash.

Needs an excuse to drive out Chamakh, he really isn't a Pulis type of player. Didn't see Chamakh dive.

Surely you're on a wind up?

He must be one of the only players that Pulis has consistently started since he took over.

No wind up. He is not a Pulis type player, everyone knows it, but he needs him for now. He criticised him for giving the ball away a lot, apparently, against Manure, when everyone else felt he was one of our best players bar that one tackle. Didn't single anyone else out and now announces he's fining him for a dive against Manure a week after the event when no one knows what incident he is talking about. No other manager bar Di Canio has taken any sort of public stance against his players and I would have no problem if he kept it in house.
Just the cynic in me, but I feel this is the start of the build up that will lead to him leaving and us ending up with someone like Crouch next season. If I'm wrong then I'll be happy.
Just watched weed vs Palace playoff again tonight so I might lighten up a bit later.

No, he accused him of diving today in the first half, no mention of the United game.

How exactly is he not a Pulis type player? Furthermore, what is a Pulis type player? It just seems to be a phrase thrown around when someone doesn't get picked (see Moxey, Gayle, Bannan).

Dangermouse just doesn't like Pulis, that is the end of it.

Can't deny that.
I saw our most successful ever spell under our Lord God Steve Coppell, but by the time he left I was totally hating long ball, percentage, aggressive football with a passion. In the early days with a poor defence, but Wright and Bright up front it was fun with 4-4 and 5-4 scorelines, but by the end you want to see some football being played. Ironically when SC left he changed his football philosophy and started playing more on the ground.
I honestly cannot abide to watch the type of s***e TP had them playing first half today and it actually made me angry. I'm not asking for total football or trying to outpass Arsenal, but some form of offence and players passing to each other not into large patches of vacant grass.
Sorry if that upsets some, but...........

It doesn't upset me, the fact is we don't have players capable of playing that way. Burley tried and we got spanked, Holloway was the same and most of the time we got a thumping. Pulis is getting the best out of what he has, a side made up of very little cash and a few players actually of a Premier League standard. Have you noticed that unless it is dry and sunny 80% of our players need 2 touches to bring the ball under control or pass to a team mate? What we have is a group that lacks skill but has serious mental toughness that kind of makes up for it.
Under Coppell the playing field was pretty level with regards to scouting and buying players. Now, those players that are fast and skillful are snapped up at an early age or for silly money, the only way we can compete is to try and produce them through our academy which is tough in itself. Pulis knows how to set a team up that can be far inferior to their opponent but still grind a result out and although it may not be pretty at times, it works. We need cash to change any sort of system we strive for (I'm pretty sure 2010 want some attractive football too) and the only way to get money now is to be in the Prem come hell or high water unless someone wants us as a toy.
I guess I will suffer the 'Pulis' style if it keeps us up because I actually think he has a very good technical ability and can change things when they aren't going right, many managers cannot. I am interested to see what a real difference he can make with a full transfer window and pre-season. I think many may be surprised.

We said the same under Coppell. Once we've established ourselves we will change, but after 4 years in the old first division and then the prem we didn't. Stoke fans were hoping the same and it didn't happen. He plays the way he plays and will sign the players that suit that style. I cannot help it, but I hate it as much as constantly passing sideways and my opinion will not change. As for people claimimg it was all part of the plan to be s***e and let Swansea wear themselves out...puleeese. Also that sit back and soak it up plan hasn't really worked so far this season has it?

It's gained us 23 points in 16 matches...

Don't like Pulis style football never have, never will. Seventeen teams will stay up this season and if we are one we will be the only ones playing this way. Can you tell me when the Chamakh dive was by the way, no one seems to know and without that it really helps MY conspiracy theory. If you are happy watching the type of crap served up at Swansea then that's fine by me, we can't all like the same thing.
Oh and Armstrong never landed on the moon and the CIA did indeed kill Kennedy, but why you're asking me questions you already know the answer to is quite baffling.

Second half at Swansea we were superb, I wouldn't mind watching that all season

Indeed but as people have been saying, I don't think it is unreasonable for us to play some sort of passing football. Look at hull for example, they play nice football and keep the ball well, but also play long balls to Jelavic and Long and it becomes less predictable, whereas we rarely pass the ball, it goes to Delaney who just launches it 10 times out of 10.

We pass it in the oppositions half. Playing it across the back and midfield isn't passing football, it's boring. Players like Chamakh, Ince, Puncheon, Murray, Ledley like to keep the ball, but if we dick around with it in our own half, we get punished
