What happened to our policy of not letting player's contracts run down?

You cannot afford to pay 2 goalkeepers on top whack in the Championship when you are Palace. You cannot risk signing one up now when we may get relegated because we may not get an offer from a club willing to equal the wages on his Palace contract.

never been a fan of his he has done well but nowhwere the best we have had and I go back 45 years and we have a £3m keeper waiting now here comes the slaging off

With you on this. Great 3 or 4 years ago but not good enough now. People say he's been great this season but I just don't see it. Earlier in the season he had the second worst saveshots ratio in the division. All that's changed since is that the defence has got better. Still lets in far too many saveable shots - e.g. he really ought to have saved Rooney's shot last week as it was in the centre of the goal.

Having said that, he definitely deserves a testimonial.

He had a very good game vs West Brom.

What? He should have saved Rooney's effort? What!!? It only looked like he could have saved it as his reactions are so quick he managed to get a hand to it.

He was brilliant against West Brom, that save when we were 2 1 up was ridiculous, basically ensured us the three points. The amount of times he has saved us is incredible. I firmly believe we would have gone down to League 1 without him that season.

Shots to saves ratio is a misleading statistic as I does not give any indication to where the shots are coming from. i.e. shots outside the box more likely to save, but under Holloway our defence was so bad i'm sure we were conceding a lot of shots much closer in

Fans that don't think Speroni is good have been spoilt over the last few years by how consistently good he's been, and think we'll somehow sign someone world class instead. We will not.

Surely a two year deal would be ok with Jules. Least he deserves from us. I will be pssd off big time if he leaves under a cloud.

Went to his restaurant in Purley last night. Good food and atmosphere.

Great interview.

I'd be really upset if Speroni left, a true Palace legend. But if he does go you know we'd give him a great send off.

I agree that there probably are contracts written up but it depends on whether we are Prem or Champ that he gets offered one.

HERESY!!

I'd be happy if we offered him five years. F**k the money we paid for Henesey.

Apart from being a great keeper, he just seems like a lovely fella.

I hope he can stay beyond the end of this season.

who would have thought we could say that to £4mill (incl a years salary) a year ago. Four Million Pounds. Palace? Feels mighty strange.

I don't believe for a nano-second Hennesy is better than Jules going by what I've read about him from Wolves fans.

I always thought the Goaly was part of the defence.!!!
He certainly has improved since the Everton Game many years ago.
And i saw him save a Penalty.

Speroni MUST be offered a new deal. Not just because he has been an incredible servant to the club but because, as many have said, he has been one of our best players this season and proved that he is good enough to play at this level.

I will be both angry and disappointed if he is not offered the contract he deserves from us!
