After the much loved John 'Stonewall' Jackson,

Yes I was privileged to see him play for our club. What a terrific goalkeeper and one who will always be deemed a 'Legend' at CPFC.

Well, he really wasn't a star, never quite cracked it in my view. Doing a good job for Newcastle though.

Jules has earned his right to be mentioned up amongst our best but for me no one gets near Martyn...the fact he went on to play for leeds and playing a huge part in getting them to the champions league semi finals and then onto everton and was rated higher then big nev southall says it all. David Moyes say Martyn is the best he's worked with.

Matt Clarke looked top notch but obviously injury ended his time in the game

Vic Rouse was a god. I never forgave Bill Glazier for replacing him - though. Bg was pretty good.

Jackson had a shaky first few games but then became magnificent.
Unfortunately he tended to have a poor game if England selectors turned up.

But Rouse was still my favourite - brilliant in the air.

Jules? He's fantastic, too.

Price was fab against Man U in the Carling cup

Martyn
Vaessan
Clarke
Jackson

that lot purely on class

Then Jules

Perry Suckling gets a bad press still but take away that one game he was a fine goalie for us for three seasons.

Please tell me you're not talking about Matt Clarke who we got off Bradford? Vasen better than Jules too? Absolutely mental.

I have been watching Palace since the 90's. Therefore only one goalkeeper beats Jules in my mind and that is Big Nigel!

Class as they were; Vaesen was only on loan, and Matt Clarke’s career finished prematurely.

Surely Martyn, Jackson & Speroni are the only real contenders

These three for me, probably in that order but they are all Palace legends. No big padded gloves in Jackson's day!

Jackson. If he had been picked instead of bonetti in 1970 we would have beaten west Germany.

And that was in the days of proper leather footballs an proper centre forwards who could shoulder charge.

Now where is that bottle of sanatogen......
