I don't know how anyone can possibly say he failed. He looked half decent in Holloway's tactically naive side. Doesn't fit pulis team maybe but I'm gutted he's gone.

He must of improved to make it onto the bench. So many people use the word "of" when it should be "have". What a w***er!

Any one know how Campana has been getting on if at all? To give a bit more of a detailed answer to this (and to move back onto the topic somewhat), as stated earlier Campana was an unused substitute on Saturday. The fact he was unused though was mostly down to unforeseen circumstances - Nuremberg had a full back and striker injured in the first 20 minutes which put paid to two of his substitute opportunities, and by the time the manager was thinking about the 3rd they were 2 down against a team 45 games unbeaten in the Bundesliga. Not really the situation for a debut. Judging by the local media here Campana has impressed so far in training, and the manager has been making encouraging noises (probably to get his confidence up for a start). It shouldn't be long until his debut as Nuremberg have injuries in central midfield at the moment, and it wouldn't surprise me if he is a success - the pace of the game in Germany is much better suited to his style. My opinion of Campana and Palace is unfortunately it is a marriage that was probably always doomed to fail. As the saying goes: Horses for Courses. And what I mean by that is there is more than one way to win a football match, and consequently there are a weird and wonderful mix of different styles of player needed for each one - even in the same position. I have no doubt Campana would be very very good in the right team and league, but in a relegation-fighting premierleague outfit the definite qualities he does have are not enough to compensate for what he is currently lacking. Regardless of what you think of the Pulis 'style' (and I am in the 'pro' camp myself), he knows what it takes to survive in this league - every player has a clearly defined role, and they need to know it inside out, right now. The only slight sign of Pulis letting his pragmatic guard down is the deployment of Ince in a free attacking role, but letting a young player develop in that kind of position is probably the only place on the pitch it can happen - definitely (and sadly) not in central midfield and with Campana.
I am nobody.....nobody is perfect......so I must be perfect |

Thanks for the update EC. Let us know if he manages to get on the pitch at the weekend.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Right player, wrong time. It didn't work out. Good luck to him. I've moved on.

Camapana was one of Ollie's Follies ! Pullis is giving us the best possible chance of survival and the players he has brought in are the right type even if we should get relegated. Ollie just didn't have the experience to tackle the situation and he bought potentially good players that he fancied but who weren't right for a dog fight. He then realised that he was out of his depth and did us a massive favour by resigning and recommending his old mate.

Grammar IS important. Capital letters are the difference between "Helping Uncle Jack off a horse" and "Helping uncle jack off a horse"

As long as I can understand what someone's trying to say that's good enough for me on here.
