Pulis' job is to keep us in the Premier League and Parish's is to keep us within our budget restrictions. The transfer window tests both of these and I'd be surprised if there weren't a bit of tension. That is ok as long as a working relationship is maintained and so far I have not read or heard anything to suggest that has broken down but the next 2 weeks are big if we want to stay in the Premier league.

Absolutely.

And the Mirror story is either a manipulation of the media by TP, sheer malicious gossip etc.

But there really shouldn't be an opportunity for this speculation to arise.

TP took the job - it would seem - aware of both the constraints and what would be available come the transfer window.

From SP's perspective, why hire a manager and then break your word. Or, why hire a manager to do a specific job and then dictate the terms under which he can operate.

If the manager - the ' expert ' - says our requirement is experienced players, then telling him he has to recruit a different type of player suggests that this relationship is destined to be a difficult one.

Firstly I want to say I am a big fan of SP and the rest of the owners.
I would rather see more comments from Moody and TP than SP to be honest. SP is guilty of perhaps trying too hard. After Moody's appointment and the shotgun approach that didn't particularly work in the last window I would have thought he would have been only too happy to take a step back.
I know in the last window we got some good players in like Bannan, MC etc but we wasted quite a lot of money on some dross, Grandin to name but one.
I think the squad is doing extremely well and punching above our weight really, but the squad is thin on quality and 2 or 3 astute purchases could make a huge difference to a team with a great spirit and work ethic.
If Pulis was promised £x amount to spend in this window then let him have it. He can't be told to keep us up with the owners saying oh yeah and try and do that with only players we apporve of. TP knows the wage structure and has to stick to it but let him get the players in he wants if one of his objectives is to keep us up as long as he stays within the transfer and wage budget. Moody and TP work your magic, SP manage the long term finances and stability.

For all those advocating truth in that article - it states that Steve Parish has been in Barbados for 10 days. He has not, that was Steve Browett.

It's a basic detail that can easily be checked by asking a question, yet they haven't bothered - which tells you all you need to know about the motivation for the piece.

It's f***ing obvious Pulis wanted players in quicker - he said so. Steve P and Steve B have also said so. It is also clear that TP understands why that has not happened.

The sad thing is, there is actually more factual information in the public domain than in this article yet people will choose to believe it.

I can not believe this story as surely when TP took the job all this would have been discussed and agreed on. SP & TP are both intelligent people and I am sure nobody wants to put the club at risk again, TP will I am sure understand this. We now have a great manager who I am sure is going to take us forward slowly but surely.

And you know this how?
As Alex Ferguson said recently, the written press can frustrate but it's not in their interest to report lies. Tends to discredit them and eventually nobody will buy their paper will they?

So everything the Mirror preaches is gospel? Pull the other one, anything they spew rarely makes sense. It's just hyperbole to shift more copies.

parish said that moody was brought in as he had a better knowledge of transfer dealings/certain aspects of football than he did.

he acknowledged a weakness in his own skillset and plugged the hole by employing moody.

Fair enough, but surely in that case Parrish should give Moody a clear budget and leave him alone to get on with his job. Why is Parrish even commenting on transfers in the media, or involved in any way? As you've just said, it's not his skill set. And please don't give me the line that "he's the owner. He can do what he wants." That's a business model for failure...not success.

When I ran a department of a corporation, I didn't expect my CEO to answer questions about the performance of that department, nor did he have any inclination to do so. If I did well, I got a pat on the back. If I did poorly, I was fired. But at board meetings (and media interviews), I answered for my work. Parrish -- if this is indeed why Moody has been brought in -- would do well to limit his comments to the realm of financial performance and annual reports which are the domain of the CEO. Not transfer activity, for which he's recruited someone to do the job.

From where I sit you have three people not on the same page at all. Parrish has brought Moody in as you explain above, but he's undermining him with his constant media comments about purse strings and wage structures. Moody probably has his ideas about what to do but it's important to remember that he's standing on his own two feet for the first time, no longer working for a friend in an environment in which he feels secure (Malky, Cardiff) and furthermore having to report to a massive ego (Parrish) and satisfy someone with a world of experience (Pulis). In truth, Moody is young and inexperienced. He's really only done the job for a couple of years. And Pulis probably thinks he knows better than both (and he's right; he does) and is frustrated that he's got not one fool but two between him and the squad he wants.

Sounds like what our American friends call a clusterf*&k to me. All I can say is that while no manager's history in the transfer market is perfect and Pulis has certainly made his mistakes, when it comes to making the moves needed to keep us up, I know damn well who I'd prefer in the driver's seat and it's not Parrish or Moody.

Shakespeare Sydney,
Parish & Moody, fools?
Read some of your comments & look up the word, fool.
Do you actually go to games & contribute anything towards the club?
You seem to spend half your life on this site.
Moody`s appointment a very shrewd appointment by Parish & Co, who would you have preferred, Sydney, Joe Kinnear?
If you read the so called rumours, Pulis wants Crouch & Etherington, both in the 30`s & on big wages & Parish doesn`t want those sort of players, yes paper talk.
So Sydney, who do you want & expect us to sign?
Who is out there, who will come to us, because we aren`t really an attractive proposition are we?
I await your reply, Sydney...............
