This thread is embarrassing, Unless I am missing something (and I might have overlooked a mention) it contains the likes of Matt Jansen, who is not a Palace legend in anyone's wildest imagination, but not a single mention in four pages of Steve Kember who, surely, is a clear-cut choice in any list. Two stints with Palace, best player in our first promotion to the Premiership (arguably), legendary stints as manager and coach...put simply, part of the fabric of the club for nigh on three decades. And a local boy at that. Len Chatterton should also be on the list. As should Side-O. Palace legends are not limited to the pitch. Err. Wasn't Steve Kember mentioned on page 1 ?
A five year old child could do this! Somebody fetch me a five year old child. |

For me, a Crystal Palace legend is someone who immediately springs to mind during a certain era. Players who single-handedly carry the hopes of the fans on their shoulders. If you cut them open they'd probably have red & blue blood. They may have played for other teams but Palace remains their defining moment; Steve Kember Don Rogers Vince Hilaire Peter Taylor Ian Wright & Mark Bright Geoff Thomas John Salako Attilio Lombardo Clinton Morrison Andy Johnson Aki Riihilahti Dougie Freedman Julian Speroni

Chris Coleman. Great in his day. Part of a team I really enjoyed watching at he was at the heart of it.

I don't bother logging into post but couldn't resist this time!!!! I'm only in my teensI can only judge on the last 10 years or so that I can clearly remember! Legends from last 10 or so years!! Andy JOHNSON (childhood hero ) Apart for these 3 there have been no real legends for me from the last 10 years...lots of very good managers and players...but none that have stayed long enough e.g. Moses, Warnock, Clyne to become legends for me.
OH ANDY JOHNSON'S MAGIC... |

Geoff Thomas. Fondly remember him showing Gazza how it could be done at White Hart Lane in 1990 with his "golf" boots on. Could of done with this type of performance from somebody exactly 23 years on yesterday.

One would have to include record appearance maker Jim Cannon, revered keeper John Jackson, Steve Coppell and going back to the 30s prolific goalscorer Peter Simpson. And NO, I wasn't around in the 30s ! Edited by Willo (23 Sep 2013 7.14pm)

Arthur Waite (Without him, we'd probably still be League 2) But if we ever built a statue it should be to Arthur Waite All time legend - Jim 'more games than Milton Bradley' Cannon.
Quite right, Vince Hilaire (He's here, he's there, he's every f**king where). My favourite player as a nipper, I excluded him due to bias!
