"Pictures Of You" doing the rounds on that tv ad over xmas was cool.

It's probably just cos we're all old(er) now that we are so shocked that a whipper-snapper like yourself doesn't remember some of the true greats.

(PS I went home and listened to Disintegration by the Cure last night and it still kicks ar$e. One of the best albums of the eighties.)

BFLB, Please, if you haven't already, listen to the original version of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails. Personally, I felt that J Cash absolutely crucified the song.
As for best records of 2003 - Maria McKee's High Dive takes a bit of getting into, but an amazing voice and an excellent live show too.

But i think that's why i like them.

They are funny. I find it hilarious. They write decent songs but they are also a brilliant parody on all the over-blown glitzy cr@p that peppered the charts.

i just d/l stuck in a rut by The darkness and i now agree with you and see where u were coming from oknotOK. its funny as! and i like it! cant wait to see them live.i hav to d/l some more tho

well I hope you enjoy them....!

Oh I forgot about Joss Stone. The album came out in November and it is brilliant. And she is brilliant. And it is well worth a listen. And I think she was just chosen as one of the BBC's artists who will go big next year. So check it before she does!

The 2003 HIM album was fantastic as was Elephant by the Stripes. And whilst I liked the new Strokes offering, I felt I was listening to a slightly shorter version of their first album.

I also enjoyed Black Cherry by Goldfrapp but Lovers by Sleepy Jackson topped it for me. A top album which displayed genuine and original thought.
