Oops. Have we all taken the bait? I love a bold claim! I get Brighton fans in my office telling me all about their next season in the Premier League. I just smile and say "that's got to be exciting for you". If/when it doesn't happen nothing more needs to be said. Rise above it gents. He's come on here to reel you all in. See if he's still here if his team (whether it is Bolton or not) don't fulfil his boasts.

Freedman himself says there is a lot wrong with the club and changes are needed. The squad we have now has been given a long time and has shown itself to be inadequate at getting results. We had eleven seasons in the top flight and have a sizeable (no, massive) debt due to the ups and downs of football. Now we're not in the top flight and can't even hope to afford buying our way back. They are getting paid a lot of money and frankly come out saying the right things and have done for 2 years, yet their performances don't seem to improve. The fact that we have a group who appear on the whole to lack real desire and determination. Yes we have been let down by the performances of the players. We've also been let down by the performance of the manager. Any comment on this at all?

Hi palace fans, Bolton fan here. I would just like to say, no hard feelings when we come to your place and dougie proves that leaving crystal palace for a bigger club was the correct decision. Yes, we are struggling at the moment, but with 4 key (premier league quality) players returning by the end of this month and a few fresh faces to join in this window we will inevitably start to move up this tin pot league. It's just unfortunate for you guys that our dominance and class will finally begin to show by the time we visit selhurst. You guys have had the bragging rights all season, and rightly so, you've been overachieving! You are slowly starting to run out of steam and deep down you know that my club will finish above you and gain promotion via the play offs, to return to where we belong! Dougie, I and the rest of my fellow supporters WILL have the last laugh, so just enjoy it while it lasts! You don't have much longer.
But you are an absolutely deluded prick. You're a real tinpot club, only 10,000 home fans at home in the FA Cup against Sunderland, especially after only just coming down. That support shows you don't belong no where near the premier league. I was told that you was booing Freedman earlier this season after going 1-0 down but to only be signing his name after going 2-1 up? Talk about fickle or what. You wouldn't fancy placing any bets would you? Nope thought not. Get with it, Davies will soon be off and you'll slide even further down the table. I really think your post is going to bite you very painfully in the arse come this next year. Edited by CharlieCPFC (08 Jan 2013 2.22pm)

The majority of our debt is owed to the owner (a Bolton fan) who doesn't want to be repaid anytime soon, I don't think he ever will call in the debt. 10-12 million is owed to banks, which is nothing, my club is not even close to going under. It's a desperate sign that you bring the deb up, as you clearly know nothing about it. As for the players not being good, I disagree, only a few of them need replacing, and as I have said, when the 4 I mentioned return we will be a hell of a team and move up this league.

If Carlsberg did g1mps. STILL avoiding the facts? Come on fella, you're getting boring now.
1/ you're an attention seeker to come on here, meaning you have psychological problems. Possibly being ignored by family and peers as a kid, then spilling over into adult life...if indeed, you are an adult? 2/ you're a soporific dullard. 3/ you have no idea what soporific means, as you have the intellectual capacity, and IQ of slug. end of debate...now f*** off!

I didn't bring the debt up, all those quotes were taken from your boards. All I know is most of your fans don't share your delusions of grandeur and know you're in for a long, hard struggle to get out of this league, and Freedman has NO experience of getting a team promoted. He's quite good at keeping a team up though, so staying in this division may be the best you can hope for. When he gets sacked for not making the playoffs you can start all over again with another manager, and another, and another...good luck with that.

You're not the 1st to make this mistake as we've seen it all before. Ask yourself this. Was the DF appointment a canny one based on 8 decent results and a team assembled half by him and half by scouts and recommendations, or did your chairman appoint him because they know they'll need someone in the very near future who can try to put a team together with comparable funds to the rest of the division and not this delusional war chest absolute pr1cks like yourself seem to think you're going to walk the division with. And one major point. You're just a small & sh1t town near Blackburn.

I quite like Bolton. They used to be one of the best average/mediocre clubs in the Premier League.

All you lot have done is point out that I'm northern. Do you think I don't know that or something? You've all avoided the facts. BWFC are bigger, better supported with a much better history. Not to mention the fact that we're better equipped for the premiership, dougie has pointed that out many times. I thought the burnley fans were bitter when we took their manager but you guys are on a whole other level! So are Portsmouth and Notts County. Oxford United were once a 'bit of a Bolton'. History means little, the reality is you've struggled with the Championship. I still think Freedman will get you into the playoffs, but this so called 'tin pot league' has had you beaten badly this season. Its January, half way in, and your looking over your sholder. And lets face it, Boltons premiership successes, are not down to your capacity to perform, but to the fact your owner has bankrolled your debts. Here's hoping you get another season in the championship, and see how great Bolton Wanders FC are with the income drying up. You did very well in the Premiership but are as fun to watch as Stoke City, the new masters of the longball, set piece everyone behind the ball. Still, better, heres hoping you become like that other giant of yore, Preston North End.
