Yeah TommyEagle, you are right!Indeed.A player of AA`s quality or in fact PROSPECTS should be given a try.Absolutely right mate.

It`s just that(and I know he`s a loverly chap!)possibly he should f*ck off and ply his excuse-for-a-trade somwhere else.`cos he`s crap and you in your heart of hearts know it.It`s sad but these things happen.Wearing a Palace shirt is something to be proud of whereas he fits onto the list of diabolical C.P.F.C. signings EVER.

Are you Stevie Wonder in disguise?Sorry mate,he`s sh1t.

Stop settling for 3rd rate talent.

You are fine one to talk about giving some respect when you're on here calling people here idiots and stupid for not agreeing with you!

Practice what you preach pecker!

The bloke looks toilet - simple! He doesn't look able to control the ball or do anything even remotely useful with it. The reason he got on well at Stoke is because they're a sh*t club who's expectation aren't very high - perfect fit for him really as that about sums him up too!

It's not to much to ask in the diviosn when you've spent that much on a player for him to at least show signs of being useful but he hasn't to a lot of us...FACT!

He never asked to be transfered for all these millions but he hasn't done badly out of it at the end of the day has he, so why should we feel sorry for him!

Oh dear, I think you must have left your pocket dictionary at home. Your belief that Mr Akinbiyi hasn't shown any signs of being useful is an opinion and not a "fact" as you so boldly claim.

Far be it from me to call others names because they don't agree with me. No, I am incensed by people making rapid and harsh judgments about a player based on at best no evidence and at worst, total fabrication (eg.Akinbiyi has played 25-30 games for Palace). I have said it before and I will say it again, you can not judge a player who is low on confidence on only 11 starts - it just doesn't make sense. I will reserve my right to call people whatever I like if they are posting total rubbish!

I'm not asking you to "feel sorry for him". I'm making the apparently controversial suggesstion that a player should be given a fair go. This is something that even the manager of our club appears to disagree with, and this deeply worries me.

I also have to say I find it more than slightly amusing to be called "pecker" by a poster by the name of "KAOS". A classy name indeed, brings to mind a 1960s anarchist. Hmmm, well 60s is probably giving you too much credit - probably more like 1940s....

That is a disgraceful attitude, and one which is going to get our new manager nowhere in his field of employment. The best managers are fiercely loyal - the ones who back their players to the hilt in public, but give them a b0ll0cking behing closed doors if necessary.

That is what makes Sir Alex Ferguson one of the best managers the game has ever seen. Think back to when Manchester Utd signed Andy Cole for a British record fee - he had a nightmare start and was low on confidence. Everyone was telling Ferguson to cut his losses and get rid of a supposedly substandard player. But Fergie stuck by his man, and transformed him into a Champions League winning striker. Ferguson has shown time and time again that public criticism of players is the worst possible way to go. Look at how the careers of so many players have been turned around under his stewardship - Sheringham and Silvestre to name a couple.

On the flip side, the amusing demise of Liverpool this season has shown the consequences of the manager showing a public lack of faith in his players. Monsieur Houllier does not seem to possess the anywhere near the same degree of managerial sense as his Scottish colleague a few miles away. As soon as players like Gerrard, Dudek and Owen endure rough patches of form you read comments from the manager saying they are not going to be part of his team if the continue to underperform. How's that for inspiring confidence?

If Mr Kember hasn't learned from the "great and the good" in football management, then he should at least learn from old wonky eye's comments about Clinton and Hayden. Criticising your players in public is cheap and only undermines your own cause. He would do much better to stop shirking his responsibility as a coach, and start managing the team in a way which is becoming of a professional manager.

I'm not talking about publicly having a go at your players, I'm talking about a new manager being up front with players signed previously who have no future under him (which is all SK has done). I also think he's been polite in saying Ade doesn't fit in with the way he wants to play. It's in everyone's interests for a transfer as soon as possible. I would imagine Ade will find another club and some form again (not that he's very good in the first place) so he and palace can move on in time for next season. I really can't see any disgrace in that.

SK did`nt lambast or publicly criticise AA.What gave you that idea? All he said was that he did`nt fit in with the style we intend playing. What`s wrong with that? While AA pulls on a Palace shirt I`ll support him,but he has been an expensive flop and the time has come to stop trying to rehabilate out of sorts players. If you want success in football you need to be ruthless[Bobby Robson is an example].I`m sure Ade is a lovely bloke but unfortunately a nice smile and a gentle demeanour do not put points on the board.

I've seen 'enough' of him to suggest I don't want to see him in a Palace shirt again. If you don't want to take on board what anyone else says on here especially when they don't agree with your very opinionated view point then why bother replying!

Just for the record, does it really matter what anyone calls them self on here?! I mean Tommy the Eagle is hardly that inventive is it...

By the way you sound like a right pr!ck...

Play Akinbiyi up front and then we'll resort to the type of football most of us don't want to see played at Palace!

If you want to lump it up to a big target man to either get on the end of it or hold it up (both of which he doesn't appear to do very well) then play him by all means!

I for one don't want to watch Palace playing like that and I think i speak for a lot of people here too! Except Tommy of course - but then what do you expect from a deaf, dumn and blind KID!

why does everyone always assume that just because Ade is big we have to lump the ball up to him? the statistics show that he has been sucessful when the ball is played to his feet. Just because you have a big guy up front doesn't mean you have to hoof the ball up to him.. I think ade fits in to the style of football we should be playing.. neat attacking football with strikers running into through balls, Ade is a proven goal scorer at this level using this tactic.

on the actual topic of this thread I pretty much agree with Tommy Eagle.

From what I've seen of Akinbyi, he's very quick (like Clinton Morrison) and very strong (unlike Clinton Morrison) and seems to have done the business at ever club he's been to except Leicester and Palace. At Leicester he had the mis-fortune to step in Emile Heskeys shoes having been bought by Taylor, a manager the fans didn't take to (sounds familiar) He came to an under-performing Palace with his confidence shot, playing under a manager who promoted a style of that left the forward players too much to do. He was hounded from day one by both the press and a large contingent of supporters showing their renowned reserves of patience. I said on this site last year, the only thing supporters would achieve with their level of barracking is reduce a £2.2million pound purchase worthless, Kember's comments only compound this (even if he was being honest. With Adebola gone, I'd keep him, stick him in the side, make sure he got the ball (but only in the penalty area) and get some return out of him. he either scores goals and gets us promoted or scores a few goals and rebuilds his value so we can sell him. I don't think we are going to get much of a replacement for nothing, which is all Kember has.

Get him in the reserves IF we have to keep him and give him a run out there!

Kember has gone out on a limb by saying he doesn't fit in his plans but I don't see to much wrong with that. He's obviously trying to placate the majority of fans who reckon he's toilet...

Yeah he was uselss at Leicester and hasn't done it here either. His form was good some 3 years ago which is a long time ago. Gazzas form was excellent years ago too but would you want him in the team now...?! I think not and that's where a lot of people are coming from who don't rate him. He done it some time ago but that's not enough...

The bottom line is, he's crap at football. If you're crap at plumbing and you're a plumber, you'll get the sack. If you're crap at adding up and you work in a bank, you'll get the sack.

Akinbuyi is payed to play to a high standard and score goals. He doesn't do either and should therefore be sacked, regardless of how much money Jordan pays him.

I think Keith Murray said it best when he rapped

I'm sure you'll agree.

Top post mate, I think you've hit the nail on the head. AA was hounded literally from day one, and Francis' tactics didn't help things. He also had a major injury which kep him out for 9 months. I think our esteemed manager should be working with him to ensure his return to full fitness so he can be in contention for the first team. You're right Green Bin, if Kember does this it is a no lose situation. At the very worst we get a fit player, who is a proven goalscorer - a much more salable asset than an unfit, unhappy reserve team striker.

I'm perfectly willing to listen to other people's points of view, when they are based upon anything other than bigotted rubbish and total fabrication. Please, be my guest: convince me that Ade has been fairly treated at our club, convince me he is "greedy" for being offered a highly paid contract, convince me that he is a "toilet" footballer.

It's exactly the kind of blind abuse that AA has had to suffer at Palace that annoys me most about some fans of our club, so please forgive me for being "opinionated" about giving a player some fair treatment.

I would hope that my posts are well-reasoned (if passionate) and well-argued. (Un)fortunately I can't say the same about any posters on the "Ade out" bandwagon. They all seem to be along the lines of "he is sh!t so get rid of him", with no decent evidence to back that up whatsoever. I will give credence to that side of the argument when you offer something convincing.

Oh Thomas, dear Thomas! Do you honestly think people are slagging him off on the basis of what he didn't do at Leicester?! I saw him come on last season on a number of occasions and start a game or two as well. He was completely useless. He floundered in front of goal, with his back to goal and generally looked out of sorts! On that basis I am making my judgement.

I speak for a lot of people. Yeah we could give him another chance but I for one would sooner take the chance with Williams or someone else.

Look I'm being polite here - he's f*cken sh*t so take your rose tinted specs off and get real you dosey c*nt...
