I think ol' Joe has finally lost it. Apparently he wants to send representatives from the World Wildlife Fund to Gaza to negotiate for the release of the ostriches.

Exactly he wont win there, all they are doing is allowing him to play the victim card. I doubt very much whether there was any involvement in this by the Democrats centrally as they could see the outcome. These cases are being mounted by enraged individuals who are appalled at the idea of Trump being allowed to stand again. I think this proves that the idea that these various cases are all a coordinated political scheme is nonsense. The Democrats know Trump will play the martyr card and use it to deflect attention from what he did.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Trump must be delighted to have all of this as a smokescreen for what he has actually done. If the Democrats did get politically involved it would be for the federal cases to be suspended and ensure that those at state level went ahead, because he can only pardon himself in a federal case. I don’t think there is any evidence even of that. I think they are being scrupulous in ensuring they stay away from it. That though doesn’t stop the repeated assertions now being regarded as fact. That’s what Trump does. Tell big lies so often they get perceived as the truth. I see the USSC has refused to consider the request from Special Counsel Smith for an expedited opinion on Trump’s claim for Presidential immunity to apply to ex Presidents. They won’t consider it until the appeal has been heard. The Judge having already dismissed it. This has the potential to delay Trump’s trial on his involvement in the insurrection until after the election. It also raises the possibility of a sitting President being given a Jail term by a State Judge. Which is new territory. It’s no more than I expected. I thought the USSC and its 3 Trump appointees would come to his aide. If you are looking for interference in the legal system by politics look no further than this.

Rules is rules and if they were dems and did what you wanted you wouldn’t mutter a word, even though that would be political. Edited by cryrst (22 Dec 2023 10.30pm)

They are in territory where the rules are so ambiguous that they can be interpreted in many ways. The USSC will decide whichever way they want. They didn’t even explain why they refused to expedite. They now hold a strong “conservative “ bias and this is likely to be the most enduring legacy of the Trump era. Which will be a drag anchor on the ability of the USA to react to change.

It’s those who take advantage of it who are and I would call them out whoever they might be. I would like to think the USSC made a decision based solely on an unbiased interpretation of the constitution but without any explanation how can that be evaluated? When the Court has been deliberately packed with conservative thinkers by a politician and the Justices not independently appointed on merit it is inevitable that suspicions are raised.

The people behind events that get reported aren't always the people presented as responsible. However, unlike the left, I'd much prefer that to be objectively proven first. [Tweet Link]

It’s often illuminating to know something about the background of those others follow and use as their sources of “information”. This particularly so:-

That is a rare case of the establishment left not reporting a lie. Though obviously their opinion on Benz is what you'd expect from people like that....it makes a bit of a leap about connections to other figures like Richard Spencer....but you tend to find that on far leftist hit pieces on right wing figures. Benz is Jewish and a great man and he was Frame Games. However, this is the usual tactic that some posters use. They try to discredit information.....not based upon what is being said....but by trying to demonise who says it. It tries to deflect away from what is being said....notice he isn't even interested in that. Who do you trust to be more truthful? The ex marketing landlord or those he comments on.
