For the avoidance of any doubt, not that it’s either anybody else’s business or that it will be remembered or even acknowledged by certain posters, the only legal case I have been involved in as a landlord was to request possession from someone who hadn’t paid rent for over 6 months. That case never proceeded because the tenant died, leaving the debt and a mess. The £10,000 I am still fighting for, as has been explained before, has nothing to do with any property. The “legal finding” wasn’t in court. It was by the Valuation Tribunal. An experience I don’t recommend as the whole system of property valuation is ludicrous, unfair and archaic. So whatever happened in the local court had nothing to do with me. I therefore hope these silly, juvenile and snide personal remarks will stop and a return can be made to the subject of each thread.

The democrats are huge hypocrites. They talk about Trump going after them and using lawfare because this has been exactly what they have been doing to him and anybody who ever associates with him. I fully support what Trump is going to do in turning the tables on these 'crying out in pain as they hit you' freaks.

The real question is not whether he might want to. It’s how much he might try to, given that he needs others to follow his orders to achieve them and they might well refuse. The forces of law and order would not permit themselves to be used against the people. If, God forgive, Trump did win a second term one thing is for sure. It’s going to be very messy. Warning about that in extreme terms makes perfect sense. The world cannot afford another 4 years of Trump. The first were more than enough.

The claim that the Democrats are “going after Trump” might be believed by his gullible base in the USA but us Brits can see through that, can’t we? We know it’s just propaganda to try to whitewash the obvious, don’t we? The only thing going after Trump is exactly the same thing that goes after every criminal. It’s called the law. Making sure that the principle that no one is above the law is seen to be done is vital if the USA is to have any chance of returning itself to any degree of integrity. Trump learned two basic strategies from his mentor Roy Cohn which have become his byword ever since. He never wavers from them and you can see them in everything he does. The first is never to admit you are wrong and to never apologise to anyone for anything. The second is to accuse your opponents, in the strongest terms possible, of that you are yourself guilty of. It’s sad to see some here still being fooled by this. You don’t have to love the Democrats to be able to realise it. You just have to watch, listen and think.

It's not going to work out for the Democrats. When one set of elites goes after the other that's the start. I know republicans are lining up their own legal stuff now.....both presidents are running to stay out of jail....kind of amusing. Regardless, things will be juicey after this election whoever wins it. Edited by Stirlingsays (15 Dec 2023 11.22pm)

I was talking about the UK system of property valuation which decides which band a property is placed on using notional 1991 values. Even if the property was finished yesterday. It’s those bands which determine the amount of council tax you pay. Not Trump’s attempt to overvalue his properties when obtaining loans. Values he just invented. Not based on any kind of objective assessment at all.

Just shows how absurd and scared the Democrats are. The polls show that the voters aren't buying it....Trump beats Biden.....and the Democrats have been the worst administration we have seen in my lifetime.

This is hyperbole However The fact both sides have no credible candidates under grandfather time age is a sad indication of the malaise within our society as a whole. How do we not have two younger candidates than the geriatric trump and Biden with fresh ideas, impetus and vigour. Absolute hinterland

A relic of the 80s that has somehow, through bluster and circumstance,, continued his storied charade all the way to the very top table. There’s intelligence there. No doubt. Playing the alternate, recognising the opportunity. Does that make him the right person? No. Does that make him the most relevant person? Yes. There be dragons

I just hope Trump does do what the Democrats are claiming he will. Sadly I think, just like last time, he will prove a disappointment but we can live in hope.
