It’s in the ‘BBC Gossip Column’ that we are ‘drawing up a shortlist for [for Roy’s replacement]’.

That could mean anything though and sure I’ve seen that exact same wording before.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Well it’s taken the attention away from having to draw up a shortlist for new signings. Every cloud Steve. No new players in January & we don’t know who the manager will be in a week’s time. Brilliant.

Indeed.

If nothing does happen I fear even turning up to Selhurst Park. I completely understand and am aboard with the anger and frustration but I hate the toxicity atm.

Always loved our club of course but always loved our fans too. I find the whole feeling atm very uncomfortable.

Feel as though the win against Sheffield United needs to happen more so for the collective around the ground/club than footballing considerations.

I hope the fans that protested at the Emirates don't go for a repeat for the Sheffield United game. All the energy needs to go towards supporting the team that night.

I have asserted recently that even I, an ardent suppoter since the 60s, did not envisage making a 4 hour round trip in midweek to attend the Sheff Utd game for the reasons I explained.

I mentioned this outside of HOL and the initial response was that it was a knee-jerk reaction, however the recipients realised that this was not the reason and there was genuine surprise, even shock, given my dedicated support over the years. They never ever thought they would hear this from 'Yours Truly'.

Suffice to say, it is possible that my rump will make contact with my seat for the game !!!

Mirror reports that sleepy Steve is inclined to leave Roy in charge until end of season.
Where exactly are the signings, loan or otherwise, that we desperately need to prevent a sinking ship ??
What absolute complacency as we head towards the rocks of relegation.

There is equal futility in my threats Willo!

Having said that, I have actually missed a few games this season, something I never did previously.

When we're playing one of the 'bigger' clubs, especially at Selhurst, motivating myself to watch us try and bore them into a respectable 0-1/2 loss is not an appealing proposition.

The list of Mckenna, Lopetegui, Cooper are all acceptable, 2 available now, i dont know much about Bo Svensson, but the best bit about this list is Potter or Lampard are not in it

Agreed , i dont get why people are saying give him the Sheff Utd game . What if he wins we keep him ? they are bottom of the table FFS and is it ok the for him then to lose the next 10 games after that because we won at Sheff Utd . The mind boggles .

Media nonsense or not, for me this would be the best choice. I'm sure a lot of you won't agree but if this happened I for one would dance up my street naked in joy.

The thing is, whilst that feels like a terrible decision. Depending on the ambitions its probably the correct one. There is a lot of negativity at the mo. Survive and its a more pleasant recruitment process in the summer.

I'm not comfortable with the current situation, but I still think Roy will be able to do enough to steer us to safety.
