Having been away for a few days, is anyone on here still blaming the hospital car park fire on the IDF?
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

So the absolute truth as I said is that it’s not about Palestine. It’s about Muslims who cannot isolate their religion from a situation.

I heard an Israeli representative of a peace organisation interviewed on the Radio 4 PM programme yesterday. They have both Jewish members in Israel and Palestinian in both the West Bank and Gaza who work together to try to bring about a two state solution. He was scathing about Hamas and their lies, but equally so about Netanyahu and the hard right coalition he relies on. It was my own observation whilst in Israel recently that there is much more friendly inter reaction between the two communities than we are led to believe. On a trip to the Dead Sea our tour guide was a Palestinian from the West Bank working for an Israeli company, who was both informative and funny. He was also clearly well respected and liked by his Israeli colleagues. I wonder how they are all feeling now. So there are good people there who can cooperate and find ways to thrive together. Getting enough of them into positions of influence is the problem.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Oh jfc, give it up - theres video of the rocket hitting the hosptial ding-dong! You don't have to go through life like this! Ash Sarkar isn't going to hop into bed with you. A video now debunked by the NY Times. To link a tweet from the IDF and state "Hamas simply has a much better propaganda game." is a rare glimmer of humour in such a sombre thread.

"So, you know the George Floyd/BLM thing, right?" He nods. "So imagine that was your moral prism to the entire universe, and you tried to apply it, armed with almost no knowledge of Israel itself, to this situation...that's how we got here." Insert more confused looks. It's also a completely made-up position, so it's not a surprise you have a hard time explaining it.

So to be clear, do you now accept the hospital car park fire was the result of a misfired rocket from inside Gaza? Simple yes or no will do Anyone who will not accept the clear facts that have emerged since the misreporting is de facto a Hamas supporter. Edited by HKOwen (25 Oct 2023 3.21pm)

It's often the few who determine such things as the horrors we are seeing.

Apparently Israel says it's going to delay its Gaza invasion/incursion until the US install 'air defences' into Israel.....Nice to have a foreign taxpayer pay for you isn't it. I think a strong argument can be made that Israel have left it too long for a full scale invasion. Talk of 'flattening Gaza' seems a much harder sell to justify to their western backers. They have prevaricated amid the diplomatic pressure and public outcry.....behind the scenes there is obviously disagreement upon the best course, either amongst themselves but most probably with the US state department. However, I would be amazed if there wasn't a significant military incursion, an occupation of the north, but the opportunity for the complete full scale invasion and erasure of the Gaza strip with its people has seemingly lapsed. However, even that comes with significant problems, not only with Egypt, who are the only place for the Palestinians to go.....but it's highly likely that once they enter Gaza that they will be attacked. Perhaps even before the Americans can install this equipment. Edited by Stirlingsays (25 Oct 2023 4.42pm)

Netanyahu just gave a speech: 'We are preparing for a land entry into the Gaza Strip, I will not say in detail how, when and for how much.' 'All Hamas members are dead men walking: on the surface, underground, inside Gaza and outside Gaza.' 'We are the people of light, they are the people of darkness... We will fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah.'
