I am pragmatic when it comes to Palace. If we have a small transfer budget there is no point appointing a manager like Lampard or Howe. Better to appoint a manager used to working with no budget that one who says this is a list of my targets and the club doesn't get any. Consistent with our chairman keeping his cards close to his chest, at least when he doesn’t get any of the managers he wants, no one will be any the wiser. Monday is a big day - if he has someone lined up we’ll hear about it. If not we’re into the silly season for both manager and player contracts

Don't mind him keeping his cards close to his chest ,as long as he makes the right decision. Putting it mildly this is one big decision in CPFC,s for sure. future

Totally agree. We need rid of him. Trouble is, parish knows what he’s capable of. And that’s an m player. Trouble is he ain’t shown that for the last couple seasons, so no one gonna pay more than 35. ABs that discrepancy will be the issue. Even if we got 50 - 70 mill for Zaha i wouldnt trust that that money would be spent on bringing in new players .

Well, this thread has given us all plenty of suggestions since it began with Dazza's forecast of Frank Lampard a month ago. So much wishful thinking, calculated forecasting and 'expert' opinion with probably over a dozen names thrown into the ring. It was always clear that Mr Parish wasn't going to make an announcement before Roy's final game at Anfield. He knew that Roy's leaving, not only Palace, but the game altogether most likely, should be the main focus of attention. And it's quite clear from the messages of appreciation and thanks from all corners of the footballing world that he was right. I'm as curious and keen as everybody else to know the identity of our new manager and Monday can't come soon enough when surely all will become clear. After we've humiliated Liverpool of course.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Bringing everything into context Zaha agitating for another move, Eze, likelihood we’ll re- sign a number of the ageing squad the manager focus I think will be a fire fighter again. Can’t help but feel we’ve got far too much to do with the squad, potential for Wilf to leave and no Eze next season nothing other than 17th is the aim. That means someone with prem experience - ala Dyche or Allardyce. I think there is absolute no chance Parish will take a risk with the likes of Cooper, Ismael or even Lampard.
