But even at that level (which I suggest is a higher level than the likes of Grimsby Town) you need to exhibit certain of ‘the basics’ yet posters are saying that he exhibited none of them for us. All very strange. Basics to succeed in the premier league may be different to lesser leagues like the Belgian top flight. One thing that you get a lot of in lower leagues is time and space. When you have time and space you don’t need excellent positional sense, which is a basic in the PL.

Never good enough and I thought he actually stood out as being out of his depth. Looked like he was learning the game. Whoever decided he was worth £9m needs shooting.

Sorloth scored twice against Oostende in second tie cup game yesterday and also on penalties. Suck on it.

Laughable responses. You know nothing about belgian football, neither do you know anything about Sorloth, even though he was a Palace player for quite some time. Sorloth will rock belgian football and never play for s***ty Palace again. Pathetic club, pathetic everything. Sorloth will be an important player for a much better and more respectful club than Crystal Pepsi.

Thanks for giving me a true belly laugh, usually I only get that when debating politics with octogenarians. Correct, I know nothing about Belgian football. Do you know why? Because it is utterly sh*te. The only way Sorloth can be an important player at a club is if he owns it. Now go back to fawning over YouTube videos of Sorloth scoring against second rate defenders in acres of time and space.

Went to see Gent v Standard yesterday and of course had a special interest is AS. Looks like he is the big man in that team. Also not surprised to see confirmed that I think loaning him out to a team in a League this weak is meaningless. He scored the first one (acres of space, hours of time), had the well known body language of "not interested", poor areal presence but some nice footwork including a smart "should have been assist". My mate reckons he has been written off by us and will not come back hence the loan deal with Gent. The difference in pace and defensive intensity makes a comparison between the Leagues totally void. I would go as far as saying that even if he scored 15 plus in half a season it does not mean anything.

He had the chance to impress and didn't, this is the cold fact of the matter. Edited by southnorwoodhill (23 Feb 2019 5.16pm)
