The current crop are failing so miserably, it makes you wonder when change will come, not 'if'. The qualifications and interviews to becomes a Civil Servant are daunting and rightly set high.
Not so to be a politician, whose choices in Government impact everyone. How so ?

Told he is a 'man without a mandate' he looks puzzled as though he was entitled rule by divine right, like Charles I.

Unfortunately for the country, he is unlikely to meet the same end.

Of course Charles I was followed (after brief parliamentary rule) by the dictatorship of Cromwell who had far more arbitrary power than Charles ever had. A common pattern with revolutions, Stalin's power dwarfed the Tsar's, Napoleon's far greater than the French kings.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.
