I'm not telling you who's better, who's worse or whatever, what I'm telling you is that saying we scored 30, one player scored 15, so without him we'd have scored 15 is simply wrong and makes no sense. Either you played all season with 10 players, or someone else would have played in his place.
So those numbers simply have no sense.

No, it really is not so, sorry.

If there isn't someone this good, the club has much fewer goals. Ok, not 0, but somewhere along those lines. It's hard to find some player who can actually do the same as Zaha and wants to come to Palace. It's hard finding someonw who can do half what Zaha does. And this season was kind of a bad one for him.

Huddersfield didn't have such a player and they scored less than 25 goals even though they brought in Alex Pritchard (England U21 international), Tom Ince or Aaron Mooy for their Premier League season.

The above suggestions are:

Ismaila Sarr- who cost 40 million, so good luck spending that money safely

Dwight McNeil- 7 goals and assists in 2800 minutes, definitely less reliable than Zaha and they won't sell him anyway

Harvey Barnes- unsellable by Leicester

Adama Traore- unsellable by Wolverhampton and cost them a lot too

Nicolas Pepe- 60 million signing by Arsenal

Take Zaha out of our team and we will play a different way, at the moment everything we do goes through him. If he leaves then we may not sign a player with the same skill set but we may then have a striker who will score 20 odd goals and Zaha's goals will then not be missed.

This is all in the future and we are never going to know until it happens.

Spot on. Also, no point speculating just yet. First of all, we need to see if anyone will bid for Wilf in the next window and how much. For all we know he may still be with us next season, and if so, hopefully with a better mindset that APPEARS to be the case this season.

Statistics I perused recently showed that 44% of our attacks were from the left-hand side.

Thse figures are at variance with my understanding of the fees involved.
My understanding is that Sarr cost £27 Mill and Pepe £72 Mill.
Apropos Traore, my understanding is that Wolves paid £18 Mill for his services which in PL terms is not a great deal of money. He is worth far,far more now!

I’m one of Wilf’s biggest fans, but the fact is we’ve attained 36 points this season with minimal contribution from him.
I know it can be argued he keeps opposing defences occupied , but in my view this has been his least effective season in a Palace shirt.
To a certain extent you can say he hasn’t been helped by our defensive tactics or the fact that he’s often surrounded by three defenders.
But I can’t be alone in noticing he’s often not even beating players one on one which is usually a major strength of his.
He doesn’t seem to be playing with much joy this season and often seems aloof.
None of this lessens my admiration for him as a player but I can’t be blind to his form this season.

And 56% from other areas.
How many goals from that 44% though willo.
If its upwards of 60% then yes but it may be that only 25% finished in goals.
You the man willo.

I readily admit not to have researched such detailed statistics.
My focus at this moment is to get 'Togged up' to go for a jolly tipple!!!!

This was my mindset in the summer just gone, I thought to myself, ok, we'll sell Zaha this summer, and buy a goal scorer that suited our style.
Basically like for like in terms goal return, obviously different styles and hopefully lower wages.
Then consolidate mid table and a good cup run, sell AWB next summer and replace with two people.

But AWB went first, so I thought - screw it, sell them both, 2 out, 100 mil in, allows us to get in 4/5 players. I had high hopes we had targets identified, with a plan b that was just as suitable.

This was once a quality forum....
