Interesting night for the Tories. 2 out of 3 aint that bad, especially when the 1 you do hold is where people just assumed you were doomed to failure. That Uxbridge result might well have some serious consequences for British public policy on climate change. Early takes on it (and not had time to really catch up on it all) is that this Ulez insanity may well have been the defining factor. Now clearly an utter disaster in the other two seats but something clearly not in the conventional playbook happened over in West London yesterday

Uxbridge certainly gives the Tories a glimmer of hope. The ULEZ thing appears to have played a part, but its significance won't be known until we have a GE. Could the ridiculous policies put on Londoners, be the Mayors downfall ?

The Boris factor, Uxbridge almost but not quite able to shrug him off finally. Their only claim to fame having the former PM as their MP. 'I was in Uxbridge during the war' - Monty Python.

A facile take on it. Noted quite a few Left-wing types struggle to get their heads around what happened in Uxbridge last night. It should have gone to Labour. As simple as that. Far more, at least on paper, of an easier win then the seat they did take. And given how Starmer is effectively wiping out the Left, you would assume they might be happy for him to take at least a semblance of an 'L' on this one. But because they are now all Bitch Boys/Girls/whatevers for the Green agenda, they have to choke it all back. Ulez is essentially part of the wider Green BS being foisted upon the UK Plc. And clearly not a vote winner, even in the face of this useless bunch of Tory t***s. Suspect more than a few heads being scratched around this.

It's very important that anyone who still votes Tory and actually still thinks that what they are getting isn't the same woke anti white BS that Labour are about then they need to watch this. This guy has seen the belly of the Tory governmental beast close up itself and informs you as to why....for example....you can give the Tories an 80 seat majority....but see nothing actually change and all the same diversity and other leftist bollocks still shoved down your neck. ULEZ is a project devised by Boris Johnson in 2015 and planned to start in 2020. Sadiq Khan introduced it a year early and later expanded it to the south/north circular and now proposed to expand to all of Greater London. So the policy is essentially a Conservative one adopted by the incoming Labour mayor.

Which is why this Uxbridge result poses dilemas for both parties as they are both fully signed up to this 'Net Zero' bollox. And Uxbridge shows them that there is a real electoral price to be paid for it. If the Tories were serious about winning the next election, which under the leadership of the likes of Sunak they are clearly not, then they would champion the motorist at the top of their lungs. Promise cheaper fuel. But they won't. Because nobody in power wants that. Cheaper fuel means less profits and less taxes.

It's interesting that Labour MPs are challenging Khan on ULEZ and asking him to make changes, they can see it's a vote loser.

How have labour not won this seat. The tories are as you say labour light and still won. I stated in many posts that the climate issue means nothing to anyone unless you are minted and not affected by it, or actually believe the bollox. Put your money where your mouth is all parties and either ditch it or make it as we are told money no option to achieve net zero bollox. No tax on green cars, houses or purchases. Yeah right !!!!

Also the other two resuts are actually, when you break them down, pretty normal by-elections losses for an incumbent Government albet it on a large scale. Essentialy tactical voting on a pretty massive scale, allied with a significant percentage of the Tory vote staying at home. Now of course, Starmer is still on course to win the GE and Sunak is going to offer nothing by way of stopping him BUT the potential is there for the result to be potentially not as big as it might be, down to this Green BS. And Starmer needs a huge majority to get this Brexit s*** through because it will lead to rebellion on his own side from MP's who either still have or will win back the infamous 'Red-Wall' seats.

Pensioners 'fed up' and 'lonely' as half of bus routes axed since Tories took power. Pensioners say they’ve been left feeling “fed up” and “lonely” by the cuts to public transport as new figures reveal half of local bus routes have been axed since 2010. Since the Tories came to power, many small towns no longer have adequate public transport and residents are forced to use cars – if they can. And that's only the buses try getting a train up north. A legacy of shame.
