That's not really millions of probabilities.

Should have sold Wilf last year, used the money to buy a decent right back and St Maximin and still money left over to line the pockets of our generous US benefactors. If Wilf goes at all in the Summer I doubt there will be enough left over to buy like for like replacement by the time Manure and our owners have had their fill.

We sold our right back in the summer and didn't bother replacing him so what makes you think if we'd sold Zaha that we would have replaced him

That's not really millions of probabilities. I don’t agree it will be very bad if we don’t get a new player as good as Zaha. He will be forgotten very quickly and that’s how it goes in football. I don’t remember a single person all season wishing we had AWB back. Life goes on and teams adapt. We may not sign a player as good aaa a Wilf or maybe we will. Wilf may not even leave. Like I say, it is all hypothetical and I wouldn’t worry yourself too much about it.

One made up article in the press about us being interested in signing Maximum and all of a sudden he is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I've watched a lot of matches he has played in this year. He turned around an FA cup win on his own and has looked dangerous whenever he has played, even though it is in a poor and boring team. I wouldn't say he is the greatest since sliced bread but I do see him as a suitable replacement for Wilf. It wasn't one made up article, there was a lot of press speculation about him wanting to come to the PL for a long time and he was seen as a possible natural replacement for Wilf. Because we didn't sell Wilf, any interest we had in him faded away and he went to Newcastle. If Wilf is going I would have him here in a heartbeat.

I know you weren't asking me, but according to Wiki, Sarr has 5 goals and 3 assists in the PL and he's only appeared in 18 matches, Dwight McNeil has 2 goals and 5 assists in 28 games, Cantwell has 6 goals and 2 assists in 28 games, while Wilf has 3 goals and 3 assists in 28 appearances. I didn't even include players who play in clubs who are above us such as Traore (4 goals/7 assists) and Harvey Barnes (4 goals 6 assists) or any of the wingers from the bigger clubs. For all the criticism levelled at Pepe at Arsenal he has still scored 4 and assisted 6 in 23 matches in an underperforming team. The Wilf of last season would be almost impossible for us to replace, the Wilf of this season maybe not so much. Wilf has been the most exciting player I've ever seen in a Palace shirt but for whatever reason, intentional or not, he has been playing within himself this season. More cynical fans may suggest it is either to protect himself from injury or to help force a move, but personally I think he has struggled mentally to come back from his disappointment at not getting a move. It would be awful for him and us if he stayed and he got worse.

I'm not telling you who's better, who's worse or whatever, what I'm telling you is that saying we scored 30, one player scored 15, so without him we'd have scored 15 is simply wrong and makes no sense. Either you played all season with 10 players, or someone else would have played in his place.
