Surely it is up to Mr. Parish to decide if he wants to sell. He Owns his shares, not you.
If he wants to spend money it's his decision, not yours. What gives you the right to demand he sells something he owns!!!

There were three of us who questioned some of the things that he did and said and we were quite severely abused as a result which makes it rather amusing that over the years more and more people have come to realise that Mr P wasn't the re-incarnation of Mother Theresa but a local businessman who saw an opportunity for a fairly risk free venture coupled with an opportunity to raise his personal profile.

I won't comment on his current strategy until the window closes but if he does try to wing it again then I will join the increasing chorus of people suggesting that his time at Palace is up and he should consider selling up

Very smug post , shouldn't you have waited until Steve has bankrupted us and led us to League Two .
Seems a bit odd to start claiming you are correct in some way when we are still on our record stay in the Premiership.
Most joining your chorus of disapproval are seem to be the type's that think Palace should be in Europe every year (see how that work's out for smaller clubs who have one good season) and think we can buy any player we want for any money and it guarantees success.

This is a discussion forum where all shades of opinion are wlecome.

My personal opinion is that Parish has taken the club as far as he wants to and is now treading water, and the Americans have bought very little, if anything, to the party. It's probably time that the current owners sold to a buyer who is prepared to invest heavily in the infrastructure and move us forward in a sustainable way. So far we have very little tangible to show for our now sixth season in the PL.

Neither of those propositions are being put forward by anyone other than yourself.

Seriously ? I actually think the majority of our fan base actually have reasonably low and realistic expectations. And I include myself in that group.

What I do expect however is a club being run with a coherent transfer policy and an infrastructure resourced by properly qualified personnel. And I see no evidence of that.

The recent upturn in results, together with the likely return to fitness of Wickham and Benteke, should not disguise the fact that we still need strengthening upfront. But from Roy's comments on another thread, it looks like Parish could be using the above to avoid going into the market - let's see.

Parish is first and foremost a businessman and profit is the main inspiration, this is the same for any other Premier owner.
It cant be denied that he has overseen the most sustained successful period in Palaces history. He has had some luck on the way and made some mistakes, but the positives far outweigh the negatives.
Smug fans who think they know how a club should be run, think its easy. If a constant spend on players isn't forth coming they demand he sells up. Why would he do that? He knows the club is unable to progress any further without a bigger income stream ( enhanced stadium ) and thriving academy, which Jordan abandoned after the Bostock saga. Building up an academy takes time, so does improving the Stadium, but some think it should be done in an instant.
Reality is difficult for some to grasp.

We are the 11th biggest spenders in the league. Since being promoted we have an average finishing position of 12th. Whilst it would be good to finish higher up the table, the reality is we have been finishing where a club our size would be expected to finish by a neutral. Every club has made transfer mistakes. Many clubs think their club is being run poorly. We are not on the verge of administration, we are not selling our biggest stars, we have introduced one of the PL's brightest stars from our academy and we have signed what looks to be three very good additions in Meyer, Kouyate and Vicente for a combined £10m. Our one flop from the summer is only on loan. Although I'd like to swap one of our strikers for someone who might score it doesn't look too shabby to me.

Bang on. I actually think that our transfers recently have improved. There are way too many on here who think that running a multi million pound business is easy.

What would you like him to bring to the "party"
Training ground bought.
New stand getting approval
30million pound players bought.

What is it you would do?

Buying £30 million CB’s doesn’t suggest the club is run brilliantly and its transfer policy sound.

New stand getting approval? When? When will it be built? 2040?

Training ground is going to be leased and it’s still not going to be up there with what a Prem club’s should be.

Scouting and transfer policy is mainly a joke, and that’s because we run out of funds some time after buying £30 million players and the scouting is p1ss poor and Parish surrounds himself with ex players without one day of experience or contacts.

Meyer, Kouyate and Vicente were very good additions, as I thought and hoped they would be, but do you not remember when it looked like they were bought because they were available rather than they fit into Roy’s 4-4-2 or nothing system? Last January was so pathetic it was almost unbelievable.

What needs to happen is for us to plan for not only the next window but actually have further windows in mind. There’s some indication that’s happening and hopefully after clawing out of the bottom 3 there might be some effort to have future windows in mind, because for too long we haven’t, and a lot of that is to do with Parish making repeated mistakes, not equipping the managers in August and then spending more than in January than we would’ve done in August. And then there’s the managers not having a pre season with the new players. The new transfer deadline before the first game may help us, something Parish was against. Strange view that one. Something that contributes to putting us in this cycle he wanted to keep.

85% of our buys have been great! You are very glass half empty. A bit more depth would be nice but our quality has improved over the last 5 years.
I happen to like selhurst park as it is, the ethiad was borring and soulless.

I am a happy realistic palace fan, sorry your not.

I would argue that treading water / mid table "mediocrity" is the holy grail for every club outside the big 5 or 6.

The only thing that can move a club from the treading water category into the top 6 is a foreign investor with silly money.

So unless that happens then we've already reached the promised land.
