All this nonsense about not being given a chance or enough opportunity?! Did you actually see him play?! He was with us almost a year and was given more than enough opportunity to show the supporters what he’s got, let alone RH and RL in training EVERY week. In the games that he did play he actually cost us one more goal than he ever scored for us. He gave away two very costly free kicks for lazy, petulant fouls in separate games and the opposition scored from them. The management team and coaching staff saw so little in him that when our two main strikers were injured, they preferred Ayew and two makeshift strikers over him and some of the time he didn’t even make the substitutes bench...and this was a player who cost us £9 million! (rising to goodness knows what?! All for a minus one goal return) There’s a reason he was traded for less than €500k twice in the preceding months...’cos that’s his true worth. One might deduce from his style of play and treatment by the management that there may well have been considerable room for improvement in his ‘attitude’ and I for one have no tolerance of that considering the privileged position these players are in and the amount of money they’re being paid!

Look at the goal he scored. One on one in a virtually empty penalty area. When do you see a penalty area like that at Prem level, hardly ever? I was one of those saying he should be given more of a chance, however he just doesn't look like an instinctive striker to me and I think he has found his level where he is playing now. I hope he does improve but I just don't ever see him as our starting striker in the Premier League.

I think he has something good about him. I reckon you'd see a completely different player if we believed in him. That's we as in management and fans. Speaking of belief in him, I quite like what his manager at Gent, Jess Thorup, has achieved! An excellent win ratio at several employers. He's also Danish so will speak better English than most of our players.

Il go as far as saying he was one of the worst players iv ever seen to play in the Premier league. When I first seen him play I was shocked that he was actually signed. He couldnt even do the basics right. Id imagine he be left on loan for a year or so until somebody signs him full time for a couple million. There has been a lot more money wasted at other clubs than the reported 9 mill on Sloth so life moves on. He won't be back at Palace. Edited by EddieMac (25 Jan 2019 7.21am)

The lad has found his level. But even at that level (which I suggest is a higher level than the likes of Grimsby Town) you need to exhibit certain of ‘the basics’ yet posters are saying that he exhibited none of them for us. All very strange.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

Either the kid has severe confidence issues, because Roy did say in training he was excellent. Or he just isn’t good enough. Reminded me of Gareth Taylor back in the day
