Mentioned in a previous post , Come the end of the season he will retire gracefully for that reason SP will not sack him , they will make a mutal decision.

Lucky Roy with his embarrassment of attacking riches in this squad. Missing two best players in Sakho and Wilf and our tallest defender against Watford’s lumps. Never winning today from moment the team sheets were handed in. Kelly can’t play against a big cf.

For a while now I’ve tried to avoid being negative about Roy. I get he’s all the experience in the world and is a great coach but there doesn’t seem to be any passion in what he does. That leads me to ask whether this affects the players and they end up the same way. On our day I believe we’re a match for anyone but we just seem to lack that passion/drive/fire that players like Jedi or Damo showed week in, week out and which spread through the team. Today we were 2-1 down with 10 to go yet we don’t throw the kitchen sink at it. So what if we make things worse, Chuck another two attackers on & have a proper go at them - sod safety & balance & all that. Watford’s back four would have been struggling with a variety of attacking options coming at them yet Ayew & Wickham were just sat there watching on. Even put Wardy in at right back & push AWB onto the right wing with Andros left or wherever he wants, not just more of the same. You can’t simply keep doing the same thing and hope the outcome changes. Edited by Nobbybm (16 Mar 2019 10.14pm) Think you just have to admit that Watford were better with the ball all over the pitch, our goal was due to Mariappa being sloppy but that was the only time they were, whereas kamikaze explains all you need to know about our defending performance.

Absolutely. My issue is that we were in a one off game to get to the semi final yet didn’t really give it a go at any stage, even when it was quite literally s*** or bust. Most other teams in that position would probably have the keeper coming up for corners etc not just looking like we just wanted to keep our shape. Have a proper go - show the fans it means as much to the players as it does them.

That would be the wrong decision, we need stability and guidance, Hodgson with the correct players available is an excellent manager in fact he is far too good for many of the players we have at the moment.

I think we actually did, we had that period in the second half didn't we where we controlled the game quite well but without causing them any serious problems and they sat back there just watching and waiting for mistakes because they were very organised and we couldn't get at them as a team ..as sad and annoying as that sounds I feel that was just the case today.

He's never parish's long term choice - the squad he has, the line up, all past managers signings.

I particularly meant the last ten minutes. We could’ve used all 3 subs & chucked everything at it - we didn’t. What did we actually stand to lose if it meant we conceded another goal or 2 going for it, the tie was lost at 2-1. Edited by Nobbybm (16 Mar 2019 11.19pm)
