An announcement on players coming in may be made when the new shirt sponsors are announced. New players are usually photographed with a club shirt, and a new sponsor will want their logo showing. Hopefully Cabaye will be holding a new shirt in the next day or two.

I don't think there's snowballs chance in hell of signing Cabaye. He'll be off to West Ham or Southampton.

Did you mean to employ the double negative? If so, I agree. That snowball's got a great chance in hell.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I have heard a completely unverified rumour in the last couple of days that a local removal firm has been contracted to move a footballer from Paris to Woldingham. I am not 'in the know', I have no knowledge of the company concerned nor do I know if this is true but, in keeping with a lot of the absolute bollox on here, I thought I'd just share it because I'm bored. (Even if a removal firm has been despatched to somewhere on the continent for a completely unrelated matter and nothing to do with football at all, it's still probably more accurate than half the stuff I've read from those 'in the know ').

I should point out that even if a player wants to join us his agent or club will not just sign up to the first offer they get. It's obviously in their interest to have at least one other club involved to push up the wages, transfer fee and any fee to the agent.

Spammers are close to agree terms to take Lanzini on loan in addition to Payet and Obiang, all midfielders add to that Song probably that makes 4 not including the remaining squad. Therefore i believe it very unlikely 1. Gold will cough up the cash 2. Cabaye will get guaranteed playing time.... Cabaye is coming to Palace

Why would they not be able to pay higher wages ? They get far bigger crowds may 40% or 50% more and have a bigger sponsor...ours is perhaps the lowest sponsorship deal in the league.

In addition West Ham have appeared in how many cup finals and won some.

Now I dislike West Ham but unless you have red and blue glasses on its easy to see their attraction.

Doesn't mean s*** now though does it mate. Look at Notts Forrest and Leeds. Who's the bigger draw now, then or us? Us of course. It's not where you've been it's where you're at now that counts. And also where you're going. We're going places. West Ham on the ther hand still seem to be in transition with many unknowns lying ahead. Will Bilic work out? Will the move to the Olympic stadium be a big mistake with it being a non football specific bowl built for athletics?

Walked past the Olympic Park yesterday and it's got to be said, it looks very impressive. I would imagine it's a much easier sell than Selhurst Park.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Craven Cottage never held Fulham back in the transfer stake. I can't see Selhurst V Olympic stadium being a factor in this move. He will have been sold on our ambition by the very aimable Steve Parish and by a manager he knows will get the best out of him from experience.
