Now even if we did sign him (and I don't think we will) where would he fit in? Now we have Banford Wickham and all our usual suspects just couldn't see a place for him.

At the beginning of the window, this was the one I really wanted. Now even if we did sign him (and I don't think we will) where would he fit in? Now we have Banford Wickham and all our usual suspects just couldn't see a place for him. I wouldn't completely give up yet (although I think it's unlikely). If it happens, it will be around deadline day in a couple of weeks time. The vaguely possible scenario leading to this depends on: 1. QPR get no serious offers for Austin over the next couple of weeks, which could happen based on the evidence so far. 2. Both Gayle and Murray move on over the next ten days (which appears more and more likely to happen), thereby freeing up room in the 25. 3. QPR remain interested in Guediora, Bannan, and possibly other combinations of our players so there is motivation to do a deal on their side. 4. Wickham and/or Bamford get off to a slow start. If all of the above fall into place, which is improbable but not totally out of the question, then I could see a sneaky acquisition of Austin at the last minute. I don't think it's likely, but it's not beyond the bounds.

Not sure this is going to happen but I doubt QPRs valuation of Austin will be me either. QPR are said to be interested in a few of our players and a player like Dwight to replace Austin could work well for them.

QPR are probably waiting for a club that makes a poor start to panic and buy him at the end of the window. I reckon that'll happen too. I could see him ending up at West Brom. If, big if, someone does decide to pay for a hugely overprices Berahino then I could see it
