So how long should the “white” population feel guilty, for ever presumably. We have no control over the actions of previous generations. I recently discovered my ancestors were Jewish who were forced out of Prussia (part of modern day Germany) so perhaps I should try to claim compensation, yes that is a ludicrous suggestion isn’t it

You’re probably better off being Jewish in Berlin than black in America.

My family came from Krakow in Poland my nan and granddad escaped and came to britain just before the the rest of the Jews including my nan and granddads family were rounded up in the ghetto and then sent to the placzow labour camp never to be seen again. My grandfather was a polish fighter attached to the british para regiment and fought in market garden. Antifa and the left has always been rife with anti semitism. Its debatable if Fascism is left or right wing especially since the nazis were committed socialists. Also the lefties love ripping into Israelis and calling them invaders despite it was the arabs that kicked them out in the first place. Anti semitism has never been taken seriously and the left are rife with it.

Yes one or two generations back not 200 years. Where do reparations actually end. I want some money from the french because over a 1000 years ago I was forced to be Anglo.

I think this stuff in America could get the black vote out in November and end Trumps time, something i wouldn"t have imagined a couple of weeks ago, might be worth a few quid if the odds are ok, maybe a Biden/Starmer double? Have to wait 4 years for a return but things are changing in the world fast, you only have to try and drive around the west end to see changes, cycle lanes everywhere, talk of people using scooters on the road legally, people working from home, its a different world in only a couple of months, and that could be the beginning of the end for Trump! Have a feeling, when the truth comes out in time, Boris isn"t going to fare well over the corona crisis either, so the Biden/Starmer double could be a shrewd investment!

Maybe if it were something that had stopped, it wouldn't still be an issue for those calling for it.

You mention France for instance, they continue to benefit from their "former" colonies to the tune of something like 500 billion.

The 14 French African colonies, when offered independence were asked to sign to sign a document called the Pact for Continued colonization. In exchange for political independence they had to deposit 85% of their financial resources with the french central bank in operating accounts. They then could apply for up to 20% back in loans from france after they presented full financial statements to the French treasury. Two countries refused, Mali and Guinea, so the french put concrete in the sewers and destroyed much of the infrastructure, as they said they built it. The other countries then signed up.

To this day, they can still access only around 50% of their own money, although it varies.

Jacques Chirac former President, was quoted to have said in 2008, that without Africa, france would be a third rate power.

Quote James Mattis Denounces President Trump, Describes Him as a Threat to the Constitution

Former Secretary of Defence Jim Mattis, who resigned in 2018 in opposition to Trump's decision to withdraw US troops from Syria, has denounced the president's actions and blamed him for the current state of division in America.

In an extraordinary critique printed by the Atlantic magazine, Mattis writes that "Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people - does not even pretend to try.

"Instead, he tries to divide us."

Mattis continues: "When I joined the military, some 50 years ago, I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. Never did I dream that troops taking that same oath would be ordered under any circumstance to violate the Constitutional rights of their fellow citizens—much less to provide a bizarre photo op for the elected commander-in-chief, with military leadership standing alongside."

They are most certainly a minority in terms of involvement so that perspective is vital, but as I stated before it's a no-brainer that disruptive elements of all political persuasions jump on protests. It's the ultimate free lunch, carnage you can blame on those with a cause you oppose.

Case in point, The Joint Terrorism Task Force just charged three far right individuals who allegedly sought to exploit protests and incite violence In Las Vegas with conspiracy to damage and destroy by fire and explosive; possession of unregistered firearms and Molotov cocktails and conspiracy to Commit an Act of Terrorism amongst other things [Link]

They should be commended as they snuff out any and all individuals intent on turning protests violent. Examples of the footage of attempted murder by rioters that we've seen should allow them to get yet more scum off the streets.

You are looking at city attitudes only. Croydon is a bubble within another bubble. As in it is not like all (or any) of the other London boroughs, and London itself is not like the rest of the country. And all cities have their own separate problems unique to their residents. And separate areas require different attention. That is why Trump got voted in. The rest of the country was fed up with the cities getting all the attention. I doubt Starmer will get voted in for the same reason.
