He is the second most fouled player (after Jack Grealish) He needs more help from Ayew and Van Arnholt but both are too busy doing defensive duties (in the case of PVA, not very well) Such is the Hodgson doctrine. Put him in a more skilful and adventurous team and he will shine. I'd love to see him paired with Grealish, it would frighten the life out of most defensive cloggers.

he's form and attitude this season has been indifferent at best. Gives the ball away in poor areas (1st goal v Everton)and at times struggles to beat man for pace (Coleman kept up with him last week and same v Southamption, despite no recognised right back). Where will he go - Arsenal don't need him, Chelsea have just bought a winger and Everton have said there will not be any future deal. As each week passes i can see other big clubs not fancying him, partly as he's wages are already very high. I would take £50m in the summer - and agree we will never get more for him than AWB.

Watched Grealish yesterday and he looked good. However Villa attacked in numbers which caused Spurs defenders problems meaning Grealish was harder to defend against. Zaha gets the ball and is lucky if we get one man in the box to pass to as the others are all defending. Therefore he is heavily marked and we don’t score. Villa on the other hand scored twice but because they defend badly let in 3. Grealish would have the same problem as Zaha in our team :-(

One of the main issues is teams know how to set up against us. We e o attacking option. When we had Bolasie there was someone else they needed to worry about (albeit a little unpredictable). We need pace on both flanks. Andros is many things but he is no flyer and Jordan isn't a natural wide player.

Imagine those two flying down each wing. Yes we wouldn't have any end product (not much difference to now) but boy would it have been a lot more entertaining. Edited by samprior (17 Feb 2020 5.05pm)

Has blistering pace and a trick, runs with the ball and gets his team up the pitch but he is hit and miss and is not the best finisher. Edited by Willo (17 Feb 2020 5.17pm)

I'm hoping things will improve with Andros back but having him as our only other wide option is f***ing criminal.

I also agree with the poster about Saint-Maxim who it could be argued has not been helped by having Joe-no-goal-inton as his target in the box. Those complaining about PvA, it is is worth noting that he is one of our only really quick players in the team and for all of his flaws he offers more goal threat than most of our midfield. Imagine if we'd signed a quick right-back and a backup for Andros; we might be on the edges of Europe. C'est la vie.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Wilf Please!' by bexleydave Love you mate, but have to say your seemingly endless efforts to pick a fight with somebody and letting yourself get easily 'wound up' is getting frustrating and ridiculous. It's affecting your game. Yes, we're all aware that you're regularly targeted with fouls and the reason? - well you really are too good for them. And then we have crude Watford, next week's visitors! BUT yesterday, you appealed for maybe half a dozen fouls against you, when you actually committed them! Come on. You make life more difficult for yourself, inviting the opposition fans to get at you even more and strain the referee's patience. Concentrate on your game, use your skills, don't whine at everything - that's your best answer. This really is meant to be constructive!

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

People may recall an incident in the England v Australia rugby World Cup match. The England prop, Sinckler, traditionally combustible, was having a ding-dong with his opposite number at a scrum and predictably gave away a penalty - upon which his opponent put himself right in Sinckler's face, wearing an enormous, ugly, mocking grin. To general astonishment, Sinckler, rather than confronting him, just walked away. Someone - perhaps the England coach - said afterwards that it marked a milestone in the player's development. Since then he has been a star for England. The point of this ramble? Sit Wilf down and make him watch it. After all, anything's worth trying.
