It seems the police operation was a success. Keeping the YL one under control without needing to make multiple arrests, arresting 9 involved in a small pro Palestine protest for failing to keep to the pavement as agreed and stopping those trying to enter Wembley without tickets. Nothing two tiered involved. Just efficient policing. Or a peaceful demonstration passed off err peacefully despite the dire predictions of the Police, whilst smaller demonstrations had more trouble..

In what way is that inflammatory? It’s factual! If they identified previous offenders then they have every reason to point it out. I have no doubt at all that if they identified previous offenders at any other march they would also say so. The difference being that people like YL and his supporters want to be recognised whilst most others try to conceal their identities. as usual, seems like you were rather hoping TR would cause trouble and get arrested.....let you down didnt he? BTW Im in Truro on Friday, fancy a pint??

Football Hooligans ? maybe Mo Salah & many more peaceful muslims will have an opinion on the Media tarring Robinson with the football brush ? or to put the shoe on the other foot ( football boot )....is it likely, or even possible, that at least 10%, of the fellas marching with Tommy, have little interest in Football ? never attended a match and do not watch it on the telly. in which case, were they stupid and got railroaded into marching in the wrong crowd ? it is either Lazy journalism or, as i suspect, propaganda. -------------------------------------- meanwhile the 90,000 Real Madrid/Dortmund fans marching out of Wembley last night ? well, they are not football hooligans. They are < insert Orwellian language here > tourists. Edited by PalazioVecchio (02 Jun 2024 2.51pm)

You can guarantee that multiple arrests were expected at the TR rally by plod and other agencies. The fact it didn’t come to pass must mean that a ‘well done’ should even come from people like you! Although you probably don’t want to bite your lip off saying it. It was well done!. By the police in maintaining control and keeping the peace without needing to arrest anyone.

What I said was “failing to keep to the pavement”! Not momentarily stepping off it! My understanding is they were permitted to demonstrate but not to do so by obstructing the road, which this group has done before. When they broke the requirement and sat in the road those involved were arrested. Nothing the least naive or biased in facts.

Makes you ask why they are not banned. Although the bbc didn’t write that they sat in the road, they wrote got arrested because they ‘stepped off the pavement’ and you quoted the bbc!

If so I’ll take your word for it. If not I will reserve opinion until I read reliable reports. YL and peaceful are oxymorons so scepticism is warranted.
