Riedewald was one of our better players last night but Zaha is badly missing PVA’s pace and ability to go past him.

He can see a forward run and make an accurate pass - something none of our current midfielders can do. But I'm almost certain Riedewald will (sadly) be dropped back to the bench once PVA is fit again and will continue his role as the unused sub.

Riedewald over Ward? Our distribution from the back would be hugely improved and I'm not sure the defensive loss would be huge.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

If we are going to squeeze him in anywhere it has to be in a central or left side midfield where his passes can have more of an influence.

When Zaha did get the ball, he had 3 players round him and no support. Not helped by the Guaita to Cahill to Tomkins back to Cahill back to Guaita to Riedewald to Tomkins to Cahill to Tomkins to Kelly back to Tomkins to Cahill to McCarthy back to Guaita to Riedewald and then to Zaha routine which enabled the three around Zaha to get into position, have a good chat and a breather before the ball came in Wilf's direction ....

Well spotted that man. At least if we had another winger on the right, the opposition might have to think about where the ball is going to go.

Yes, we are certainly missing Townsend and PVA as alternative outlets for the central defenders and Guaita.
