Parish has shown he can panic and get himself into an utter bind in trying to do what he thinks is best for the club. I bet he's full of private regret for the pig's ear he's made of it in terms of process, communication & fact finding. I do believe a singing section -- next season -- would have majority support. But clearly nobody truly knows what most fans would like. And it would be excruciating for there to be a survey now. What Parish should have done (if it was so important to him) was to float the idea of a singing section that everyone can be a part of and that the HF are invited to get involved. That way he might have avoided marginalising every day fans.

I'm not against a singing section. I doubt anyone is in principle. Its the HF, their behaviour and the way the club seem to be bending over backwards to please them that I am against. As I am sure others are too. I'm getting a bit lost here. Didn't we already have a singing section?

I think it’s an English and/or British trait to be afraid of change. It’s actually more a trait the older you get, and the age demographic is rising in football, and so the seats are taken by people for decades and areas become more and more sedate. This has been discussed on either this thread or the BBS one. There’s some good posts regarding response to change at work. Maybe the British trait is to do with the empire and everyone adapting to us, speaking English wherever we go. Embrace this change, because it’s happening. Biggest load of cods wallop I have ever heard. The British are probably the most forward thinking in Europe. I know many many Portugese, Germans, French, Dutch and I have both Spanish and Italian blood mixed in with all the English. Every nation mentioned is more tradional and set in its ways and history than England has ever been!

Sorry if this has been posted before on this, or other threads . . . BUT, Has anyone noticed that there are approx. 3-5 ardent defenders of the (so called) HF, but don't appear to be part of them, will be happily proved wrong btw. Now, there are a whole lot of people on here who oppose what is about to happen & how it will affect them & others, tho, I will say, they do NOT represent the 'majority' of our fan base. I am fully behind a greater interaction from the 'fans' & the team (as well as TV) brand. As the majority of posters have mentioned, they have grave misgivings about the clubs plans for next season concerning this, ie what the 'compensation' being offered is derisory to say the least.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

What the hell is 'ballsy' about giving up a season ticket? What a moronic statement. ‘They gave up their tickets because they are not as into supporting Palace as the rest of us.’ Erm, they’re still going and supporting just like the rest of us, spread around the ground, like the rest of us.

How, seeing as they are ST holders for Block B, are they getting tickets for other parts of the ground & whats happened to their ST's? Just wondered, NO other agender btw

Clearly there are those who wanted to continue to support the team but not as the HF. These supporters, spread around the ground, could have continued their support as the HF but adopted a strategy to disband to give themselves leverage to force the hand of the club in order to facilitate their move to Block B as soon as possible.

Just wondered, NO other agender btw They’re not season ticket holders in block B. When the box office and Parish finally realised they weren’t taking them late on in the summer he put that ‘unique opportunity to move to block B’ Thread up on the BBS. I knew that would fail, but I thought other fans would replace it organically. I and Parish were wrong. Loads of people changed their view whenthe HF plans were aired. Who knows if they have season tickets spread around the ground, maybe swapping amongst themselves, or they buy individual tickets, but they’re going.

I also think the compensation for those moving is an insult, but the bending over backwards to please them is really getting to the outcome Parish always wanted. Making them happy is just the route to what Parish wanted. I’ll say again that Parish couldn’t stop praising them on the radio so I wasn’t surprised he did a u-turn when he realised that Selhurst was a very different place.
