All the work done to set him up for chances that are squandered

Thankfully Sørloth very good debut.

As Luka said, if he had put the chance away after 60 mins the game could have been affected

Please don't anyone trot out the headers won stat, its goals scored that matters

Absolutely. The continued misses are as damaging as defensive errors. His misses if allowed to continue will contribute to sending us down. I would seriously drop him against Spurs.

Can't understand how some defend him at the moment he's useless and his attitude poor and for a big unit pushed off the ball far too easily Doesn't matter how many crosses come in would just mean he'd miss more Stick him on the bench might give him chance to think on why he's not trying or is he saving his energies for the world cup

I'd love to see Benteke doing well, he's definitely got it in his locker but his confidence has evaporated and he doesn't believe in himself.

As he's played every week I presume Roy has been cajoling, persuading, training extra hard, working on technique but it's still not there. He had 2 very decent chances yesterday that most strikers would have put away at least one.

The only thing left is to show him it's not good enough, maybe some anger and disappointment will kickstart his form and override his lack of confidence. He has to be benched as a tactic for him, and to show the squad it doesn't matter how much you get paid or how many injuries we have. You deliver or someone else takes your place.

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue
Yours sincerely
Mile Jedinak

I can’t understand the people who constantly slate him!? In front of goal he has been poor but his overall play has been good. He has brought others in to the game and is getting in the right positions.

A striker is judged ultimately by the number of goals he scores, but you can’t question the work he does defensively and his build up play.

Those who call for him to be dropped what planet are you on, we have an injury hit squad and you want to make it weaker. There’s plenty of players in that team yesterday who performed poorly, PVA, Mensah, Hennessy etc. yet Benteke gets the brunt of it.

How can anyone defend CB now? And his overall play has NOT been good. Loses the ball easily, fall over and almost never anticipate where the ball might come. We know he has "it" somewhere in his locker, the sad thing is that locker is not in South London.

Fair enough it is factual to say he’s been wasteful of chances but his overall play has been good! Loses the ball easily and lack of anticipation can be aimed at any of the palace players yesterday.

Sure I must have better things to do with my time... For a striker with his price tag can’t help but feel Really frustrated. Not sure how we recover anywhere near our investment. Maybe we can flog him to China

Think I’ve got it already - second one in from the left?

.

Sick and tired of this particular defence on behalf of Benteke. Ultimately he's paid to put the ball in the back of the net, and it's not like he hasn't had the chances come his way - numerous one on ones with the keeper, off target headers etc. What did it for many I suspect was when he took the ball off Luca for that penalty, total disrespect and imo he should have been dropped straight after.

i would seriously question whether they are proper Palace fans.

Roy, the most game-time you should ever give Benteke is ten or fifteen minutes at the end of a nothing game, a game where the outcome is already beyond all reasonable doubt.

Unfortunately at the moment, it is for opposition defenders.
